Bright and energetic student assistant for on-call shift

The distribution department at Det Nordjyske Mediehus is looking for a responsible and solution-oriented shift assistant to work every other weekend from 03:30 to 11:00. About the job

The distribution department at Det Nordjyske Mediehus ensures that morning newspapers, parcels and magazines are delivered to people in North Jutland 365 days a year. As a shift and customer service assistant you handle the situations that arise along the way. This could, for example, be illness, operational problems with a vehicle, or missing newspapers. The tasks are varied, and you must be able to assess the situation, prioritise and find a solution – even when the pace is high.

You will have an independent role with freedom under responsibility and a great amount of latitude within the agreed framework. You make the necessary decisions and follow up so that operations continue and customers receive their newspaper as much as possible before the agreed deadline.

We provide you with thorough training in the systems and workflows you will use. At the same time you will gain good insight into a comprehensive distribution and transport setup. It is advantageous if you can participate in the training on weekdays.

Who are you?

You are a student, reliable and take responsibility for getting tasks solved. You can communicate confidently in both Danish and English – verbally and in writing – and meet others professionally and service-oriented. You work in a structured way, keep an overview and can make decisions when unexpected situations arise. In addition, you have experience with the Microsoft Office suite and at least one year remaining of your studies.

Terms of employment

The position is hourly paid and comprises 15 hours every other week. You work every other weekend – Saturday and Sunday mornings – as well as on some public holidays. The shifts are in the time window 02:30-12:00. If needed there may also be opportunities for weekday shifts, including daytime shifts, where you assist the regular team with various administrative tasks.

You will be paid according to the applicable collective agreement and receive a shift allowance for work at odd hours and on Sundays. Your workplace is our distribution department at Østre Fælledvej 8, 9400 Nørresundby.
