About the job

Do you want to help develop a growing municipality with green ambitions?

Are you a building designer, engineer or do you have a similar background? Maybe you also have a craft background in your toolkit? Then you might be the colleague we are looking for to the Center for Traffic, Properties and Operations, where we work with the municipality's buildings and harbours.

You will become part of a politically governed organization where daily life is both structured and varied. Each year we plan maintenance tasks on the municipality's buildings and harbour facilities, which must be approved politically.

At the same time, there are ongoing new needs for remodeling, renovation and new construction that must be carried from idea to reality.

This means that you must be able to work in a structured way with the planned initiatives and be ready to take on new tasks when the need arises. Fortunately, you do not have to handle the tasks alone.

Indeed, you will be part of a strong multidisciplinary team, where building designers, architects and technical drafters work closely together. We share knowledge, spar with each other and use our different professional backgrounds to find the best solutions. Here there is a short path from idea to action, and we help each other when challenges require multiple perspectives.

Together we work to ensure that the municipality's buildings and harbour facilities are well-functioning, attractive and ready for future needs. We are focused on the quality of what we do, and we integrate sustainability and green transition where it makes sense and has value.

In short, you will become part of a department where professionalism, collaboration and development go hand in hand, and where you get the opportunity to influence the buildings and facilities that many citizens use every single day.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintenance of buildings and harbour facilities in collaboration with operations
  • Design and tendering of minor construction projects
  • Construction management on municipal construction tasks
  • Advising other centers on building-technical and construction possibilities
  • Financial management and ongoing follow-up on budgets in construction projects
  • Support for political servicing through the preparation of political case materials, cost estimates and decision proposals
  • Contribute to development and operations tasks as needed

About you

We imagine that you are educated as a building designer, engineer or have another relevant construction-related education. If you have also gained hands-on experience with the trade in real life, we see that as an extra advantage.

You probably have experience with construction projects in some form and may already know about tender materials, procurements, project documentation, work descriptions and construction management. You have an eye for both the technical details and the overall solution when a project moves from initial considerations to execution and delivery.

You have strong digital competencies and work routinely with relevant IT systems. It is an advantage if you have experience with AutoCAD or Revit and knowledge of building registration, preferably in Dalux and user familiarity with Byg and Miljø.

As a person you take responsibility for your tasks and you make things happen. You can work independently when required, but you also know that the best solutions come from collaboration with colleagues and partners. You are the type who does not panic when plans change, but instead finds a good solution and moves on.

You can explain technical issues in a way that both colleagues, craftsmen, managers and other partners understand what you mean. And you contribute gladly to professional sparring, both when you have something to teach and when you need input yourself.

Most importantly, you are keen to develop. You are curious about new tasks, solutions and experiences, and you see it as a natural part of the job to keep getting a little smarter every day.

About us

We work digitally in both design, documentation and building operations and use, among other things, AutoCAD and Revit, while daily building operations are handled digitally in Dalux. Digital tools are therefore a natural and integrated part of our task solving.

You will become part of a team of five building consultants, where we help each other and use our different professional backgrounds. We have a varied everyday with many different tasks and it is rare that two days are the same.

We believe that the best results are created together. Therefore we prioritise professional sparring, knowledge sharing and a strong collegial community. The door is always open here, help is near, and there is room for both serious professional discussions and a good laugh over a cup of coffee.

We also know that life consists of more than work. Therefore we offer flexible arrangements so you can balance everyday life while developing professionally. We continuously support skills development and give room for you to grow in step with the tasks and your own ambitions.

The community does not stop at the desk. We come together across the organization through professional study trips, social events and other activities that strengthen both collaboration and good humor.

In short: With us you become part of a team that is proud of their professionalism, enjoys collaboration and is good at having fun together along the way.

We encourage both recent graduates and experienced candidates to apply. The most important for us is not how many years you have on your CV, but that you want to bring your professional skills into play, take responsibility and develop together with us.

A workplace that binds the island together

BRK is a unique municipal workplace because the island is an autonomous region. We therefore work with strategies and tasks in areas such as business, tourism and transport, which are responsibilities that Danish municipalities normally do not handle. On brk.dk you can read more about the municipality, which with 3,600 employees is the island's sovereign largest workplace.

BRK is a smoke-free workplace.
