Building Case Handler for Construction and Property Data

Are you passionate about being a part of the municipality's many projects and can you make ends meet when a solution has to be found? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.

We are looking for a building case handler for our Building Case Department.

You will work with many different projects and tasks. Therefore, we would like you to have experience with building case handling from another municipality or from a private advisory company. But if you are curious and have an in-depth knowledge of the process in a building case, then it could also be you we are seeking.

Depending on your competences, the position will consist of building case handling of housing and commercial cases, possibly land zone, as well as clarification of related legislation internally in the municipality.

The content of the position can change depending on priorities and resources in the department and, of course, depending on your concrete competences.

We expect that you

• have a relevant education as engineer, architect, building constructor or equivalent and a solid basis of experience
• are independent, flexible and constructive in solving tasks and can collaborate in a team
• have knowledge of, and insight into, building and planning legislation as well as other relevant legislation
• are service-minded and have the ability to communicate clearly and understandably - both orally and especially in writing
• are used to using IT in your daily work, as we receive and process our case materials digitally

About us

The Building and Property Data department consists of a total of 27 employees distributed across three independent teams, where each team comprises 8-9 case handlers plus administrative support.

The tasks are varied and mainly include statutory processing of building applications, in addition to guiding citizens and businesses about applicable rules/regulations and preparing cases for political consideration.

We process approximately 2,400 building cases annually in Herning Municipality, and in addition there are exemptions for local plans, geothermal energy, and more. We currently have many land zone applications, but also a considerable amount of housing and commercial construction.
