About the job

Would you like to become part of a department that is among the country’s leading in its specialty? Here is the opportunity to become part of an attractive department with high professional quality and well-being.

Who are we?

Our patients are newly operated after advanced heart and thoracic surgical procedures, including bypass operations, heart valve operations, and operations for cancer in the lungs and esophagus.

In addition to the ward, we have an outpatient clinic where patients come in for pre-consultation and preparation before surgery. The outpatient clinic is open during daytime on all weekdays and is covered in shifts by staff from the ward. We thus work with the entire patient journey both before and after surgery.

The tasks span broadly from fundamental nursing care, instrumental nursing care, teaching and guidance of patients with a focus on life after surgery to the nursing of the acutely and critically ill patient.

Our ward is staffed for 15 beds. We are about 30 nurses and a ward physiotherapist employed in the department. You can now become part of the group. We are seeking social and health care assistants for both a permanent position and a 6-month temporary position with the possibility of extension.

Our department is characterized by a high level of quality and activity, where both mono- and multidisciplinary cooperation are given high priority. We are as a starting point organized with primary nursing, as we value a holistic approach to our patients. The nurses are organized in a team or partner pair that you will become part of, and together with the nurses you will participate in observation, care and support for the team's patients.

We have a strong focus on the good working environment and know that the balance between work life and private life is important for each person’s well-being. The ongoing focus on well-being is also reflected in our latest well-being survey. Social relationships and good collegiality are important for job satisfaction, which is why we prioritise social events highly. This is expressed, for example, in maternity coffee, annual heart celebrations, Christmas coziness, etc. If you are curious, you can find us on Instagram: Afdeling T (@thoraxkir_aalborguh)

We are a department in constant development, continuously working on developing our profession and competencies. We have hired a development and education responsible nurse, who works purposefully with this.

We are gradually settling into the new framework in Hospital City and are working purposefully with the challenges that arise along the way.

The department also has a large educational task and receives nursing students in 1st, 2nd and 6th semester as well as social and health care assistant students. There is a clinical education nurse and two clinical instructors who primarily handle this task.

About you
