About the job

Authority, Disability and Social Psychiatry seeks an authority caseworker for a longer parental leave substitute at 37 hours per week starting 1 January 2027.

Authority, Disability and Social Psychiatry is part of Social and Health in Haderslev Municipality. In Social and Health, “Valued Everyday – every day” sets the direction. Everyone has a need to decide over their own life and, as far as possible, live a life independent of the municipality’s help. We start from what precisely creates a valuable everyday life for each person and help them, through the solutions we have and are building.

Authority, Disability and Social Psychiatry is Haderslev Municipality’s authority for applications within compensatory measures for adult citizens with disabilities, psychiatric disorders or social adversity.

We collaborate with citizens and other departments to facilitate welfare and find the best possible solution for the individual citizen. We believe we are strongest when we create solutions together.

What can we offer?

First and foremost, we can offer you an exciting and professional job where you become part of a department and a workplace with skilled and committed staff, where everyone contributes to shaping development

We can also offer

  • a well-structured induction program for the initial period of your employment with us
  • a workplace with the possibility of flexible work arrangements in the form of options for home work, the ability to influence your own working hours within the municipality’s opening hours, the possibility to plan your own tasks, schedule meetings and hold meetings on Teams
  • a good working environment with good colleagues and a strong collegial atmosphere
  • an exciting and dynamic workplace focused on development
  • space for professional exchange of opinions, dilemmas and ethics
  • space for professional and personal development

What is the job content

You will handle tasks in the form of case processing, assessment and follow-up regarding citizens over 18 years with psychiatric diagnoses, mental challenges, social adversity, mental and physical handicaps, which have resulted in a lasting and significant reduction in mental, physical and/or cognitive functioning, which means there is a need for compensation to be able to function in daily life.

Your tasks will primarily concern citizens with psychiatric diagnoses, mental challenges and social adversity. You can expect that you will also, to some extent, work with citizens with mental and physical handicaps. This is a citizen group with complex needs and challenges.

Your tasks will consist of general case processing in the form of processing new applications, meeting leadership, advice, guidance, clarification of needs and interventions, assessment, decisions, initiation and follow-up of the appropriate support measure, as well as holding action plan meetings with citizens who are staying in a care home in accordance with the Social Services Act §§ 84, 85, 85a, 97, 103, 104, 107, 108 and 110.

You will become part of our At-Risk Team, where you together with three colleagues and in close cooperation with the head of the Authority Department will coordinate, plan and hold meetings with citizens experiencing homelessness who are staying in a homeless shelter, as well as citizens who are at risk of homelessness. In addition, you will process new applications for support under the Housing First support methods CTI and ICM.

We imagine that

  • you have experience with the authority role
  • you have experience, interest in and a desire to work with adult citizens with psychiatric diagnoses, social adversity, disability and citizens with diverse and complex needs
  • you have experience with VUM (and preferably with VUM 2.0). If you have knowledge of BIT, that is an advantage
  • you are educated as a social worker or social facilitator
  • you can navigate in a changing daily life and keep many balls in the air
  • you can work independently and systematically and take responsibility for your own and joint decisions
  • you can and will make decisions and stand by them within the framework of the law and with good citizen dialogue at the center
  • you possess good collaboration skills and can see your own role in cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • you are goal-oriented in your casework with identifying citizens’ needs and interventions and in following up to achieve the set goals in cooperation with the citizen
  • you focus on the economy in your decisions
  • you focus on ensuring flow in task solving
  • you have a flair for IT and administrative case work
  • you see yourself as part of a department where everyone contributes to the tasks, contributes to professional development and contributes to a good working environment
  • you have a driver’s license, as there are often meetings outside the office.
