About the job

CApE is seeking two students from January 1, 2027. The appointment will be under the HK agreement, and the weekly hours are respectively 10 and 15 hours per week, but may vary depending on holidays and events in the center.

About CApE

CApE is a research center at the Faculty of Humanities, KU, that engages in applied green, humanities research with a focus on eco-crises and transformations within culture, society and local practices. CApE is based at Læderstræde 20 in the inner city together with organizations such as CONCITO, Tænketanken HAV, Arkaia, and others. You will therefore be in an environment with other organizations that are central actors in the field.

CApE creates new knowledge within the field and carries out activities both for a wider public – e.g. debate events, talks, student events or research workshops – and internally with researchers and their practice partners. The daily life at CApE is thus very varied: some days the office is characterized by researchers focused on individual work, and other days we prepare larger meetings or a major event. CApE is a smaller workplace where you as a student are allowed to support and contribute to many processes and decisions. We prioritize a good working environment and a strong sense of collegial community.

Students to support center coordination

You will primarily report to and support the Center Director Stefan Gaarsmand Jacobsen, i.e., you will handle tasks related to the center management's administrative work. The day-to-day will be characterized by many varied tasks requiring good collaboration skills and engagement. The weekly working time is on average 10 hours per week.

Your tasks will include

  • Support for communication between center management and partners. For example, invite to meetings in the calendar, follow up on external inquiries and ongoing collaborations by email, write minutes of house meetings, book rooms, etc.
  • Practical support to optimize work processes. For example, order and collect materials, prepare meeting rooms, organize documents, etc.
  • Support for developing the center's activities in collaboration with the center's program/event officer, communications officer and CApE’s other student. Including assistance with coordination and planning and administrative tasks.
  • Active participation in coordination meetings and development workshops, including minutes of meetings, internal CApE and ad hoc with external partners.

Students to support the center's events program

You will primarily report to and support the research officer Andrea Thorup, where you especially will handle tasks related to the center's events program. The weekly working time is on average 15 hours per week.

Your tasks will include

  • Assist CApE’s administration and researchers with tasks related to events and communication, including proofreading in Danish and English.
  • Advertise events on the website and social media – including creating graphics for events in Canva. Develop, collect, write and publish newsletters and coordinate with the center management and the communications department.
  • Support planning and execution of events with the officer and the event coordinator. Post-event support for events before, during and after an event, including the preparation of run sheets before events and coordination with event assistants.
  • Assist with booking transport and accommodation for CApE’s guest researchers. Including support for KU's train travel rules and booking train travels.
  • Active participation in coordination meetings and development workshops, including minutes of meetings, internal CApE and ad hoc with external partners.
  • Practical tasks in the office such as printing and hanging posters, as well as book purchases.

For both positions, we require the following from you

  • You have experience providing support for administrative tasks
  • You have a good overview of using Outlook, the Office suite, etc., and a desire to learn more through work in the center.
  • You are proficient in written and spoken English and Danish and have experience supporting internal communications.
  • You have good initiative, are responsible, and good at handling multiple tasks.

We would like you to find green humanities research interesting, as all our work centers on the center's disciplinary area.

Terms of employment

Employment is in accordance with the Common Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and Public Employees' Organizations - The Civil Service Area (OAO-S Common Agreement) and the Organizational Agreement for Office Clerks, Laboratory Technicians and IT Staff (HK).

You will be paid as a student with an hourly wage of DKK 145.73 (current level).

The appointment is temporary with start date 1 January 2027.

A requirement for the employment is that you are enrolled and an active student in a higher education program.

Please submit your CV, application, proof of enrollment and transcript.
