About the job

Center for Children, Youth and Families seeks social workers for the city-wide departments

Are you passionate about working with children and young people in vulnerable positions, placed children and youths or children and youths with disabilities? Then it may be you we are seeking.

In the Center for Children, Youth and Families we have the statutory responsibility for the municipality's interventions for children and youths aged 0-18 (23) years in need of special support under the Children’s Act and the Social Services Act. We work both in the social and the specialist field. The center consists of the Reception, the Special Advice, the 24-hour Advisory and the District Advisory.

Relational welfare is our shared professional foundation. It means that we meet children, youths and families with a holistic and resource-focused perspective and base our work on their wishes, dreams and hopes for change.

We are seeking 3 colleagues for our city-wide departments in the 24-hour advisory service, the Reception and the Special Advisory. The positions are 37 hours per week with start on 01.12.2026. These are permanent positions.

We are looking for

  • A child and youth advisor in the placement area. Here you primarily work with placement cases within both the social and specialist areas. The work consists of making decisions about placement, writing recommendations to the children and youths committee, initiating and following up on the placement, determining contact arrangements, and conducting person-centered supervision of the child. All of this takes place in ongoing dialogue with the child/young person and their families.
  • A 'flyer' (floating) worker. Here you will handle tasks and cases that for a period are without a fixed advisor. You will carry out tasks for the entire center. The target group is therefore broad and covers both the specialist and social areas and all types of interventions. It is essential here that you can structure and prioritize your time and enjoy administrative work. Examples of tasks include handling reports, preparing screenings, mapping or child welfare assessments, conducting follow-ups and preparing decisions.
  • A child and youth advisor for the Special Advisory. Here you will work with the most complex special cases, where you will provide counseling and guidance, identify the child's support needs, make decisions about services, including compensable services, specialized interventions, as well as establishing substitutes, contact persons and support persons.

Please mention in your application which of the above departments you see your competences best utilized.

You will have a varied and exciting job with the opportunity to bring in your own competences and develop professionally. You will be welcomed with an introduction program that ensures your knowledge of the legislation, the organization and our practice, and you will receive close supervisory sparring in your startup period.

You will become part of a team consisting of wonderful and skilled colleagues, and you will have access to both supervision and weekly team meetings with case sparring together with the manager and colleagues. At the same time we offer a flexible everyday life, where you have great freedom to plan your task execution with the possibility of home working. We are a workplace that prioritizes a good working environment for all.

To help you succeed in the role, we imagine that you

  • Are educated as a social worker or social mediator.
  • Have interest and preferably experience with duty/authority work.
  • Have knowledge of the Children’s Act.
  • Are able to structure and balance your time between contact with children, young people and their families, and the legally required documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Want to work relationally and base your work on families' wishes, hopes and dreams.
  • Are open, listening and flexible in problem solving.

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed at the Center for Children, Youth and Families, which is part of the Administrative Area for Children, Youth and Education in the Magistrate for Social Affairs and Employment. Your primary workplace will be at Karen Blixens Boulevard 7 in Brabrand.

Salary and terms of employment are set in accordance with the applicable collective agreement, with final salary determination after negotiation with the relevant professional organization based on qualifications.

Employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record check and an unblemished children’s background check.

Weekly hours are 37 hours with start on 01.12.2026. This is a permanent appointment.
