Chief Consultant with overall business responsibility for the development and operation of the clearing infrastructure

Finance Denmark has a strong position in shaping the framework conditions for the Danish financial sector and is in the process of strengthening this role further and equipping both the organization and the sector for a time when challenges grow nationally and globally, and where the financial sector is a completely crucial alliance partner for society when it comes to finding the solutions of the future. We are seeking a chief consultant who will help strengthen our development and operation of the financial infrastructure.

About the position

You will have a central responsibility for the overall development and operation of the clearing infrastructure. You will help ensure that the clearings operate stably and securely today, while they are developed and adapted to future requirements from the sector, authorities and international partners.

Clearing Services is the common framework for clearing infrastructure for payments in Denmark and sets the terms and rules for the account-to-account infrastructure, including STEP2 DKK (new), Intraday clearing and Sum clearing. The aim is to ensure that the clearings can settle safely, stably and efficiently. In the team we work purposefully for robust and future-proof solutions, where stable operation and preparedness are integrated into both development and operation.

You will become part of the Development and Critical Infrastructure team at Finans Danmark, where Clearing Services is organizationally anchored. Together you ensure stable operation and ongoing development of Clearing Services.

Tasks and responsibilities

Your key tasks and responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the development and operation of Clearing Services and translate this into clear priorities, decisions and deliveries.
• Ensure progress in both professional terms and across colleagues, participants, authorities, suppliers and international partners.
• Act as a central anchor point and set the course for development projects that ensure modernization of the clearing infrastructure
• Prepare sharp decision briefs, strategic analyses and recommendations for management, the board and relevant forums.
• Navigate political and regulatory agendas and represent Finans Danmark's and the sector's interests in dialogue with authorities and other stakeholders.
• Ensure robust governance, risk management, compliance and contingency planning around the clearings, including handling incidents and emergency procedures.
• Create coherence between the existing infrastructure and the transformation towards new Danish and European payment solutions.
• Represent Clearing Services in central collaboration and decision-making forums and build strong relationships across the sector and stakeholders.

About you

We are looking for an experienced profile with strategic and political understanding. We imagine that you:

• Have experience in independently running complex programs or business areas.
• Have the necessary seniority and judgment to quickly understand complex issues, ask the right questions and create progress
• Have knowledge of compliance, risk management and contingency planning
• Are analytically and communicatively strong and can translate complex issues into clear recommendations and decision briefs
• Have a good understanding of the operation and development of financial, society-critical infrastructure
• Have experience in driving collaboration and creating progress across authorities, suppliers and other sector actors.
• It is a requirement that you speak and write fluent Danish.
• Have a relevant graduate degree

You do not need to know all parts of the clearing area from day one. The decisive thing is that you can quickly get into the area and produce results in close collaboration with strong professional specialists.

Experience from the financial sector is an advantage, but not a requirement.
