About the job

In Child Disability we seek a skilled and qualified child and youth advisor who wants professional development in a team where you get a high degree of own competence, strong professional sparring and close professional leadership.

About the job and tasks

The position is 33-34 hours per week with start as soon as possible and no later than January 1, 2027.

Child Disability is part of the authority section in Children and Families. We are physically located at Juelsminde Town Hall and this is as a rule your workplace. You should therefore expect a fair amount of driving in the role. A driving license and willingness to use your own car is a necessity in the job.

In Child Disability you will handle cases about the whole child and family and the tasks include:

  • Involvement of children, young people, parents and networks as a natural part of the task solving.
  • Case handling of the disability compensating benefits (compensation benefit, lost earning capacity, substitution and respite), cf. Children's Act §§ 86, 87 and 90.
  • Advice and guidance.
  • Preventive work and early detection, including counseling at schools, day care centers, cross-cutting projects.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration around children, young people and their families.
  • Participation in network meetings at schools, in day care centers etc.
  • Preparation of mappings, child welfare investigations and child and youth plans.
  • Case handling of the supporting measures and placements cf. Children's Act §§ 32 and 46.
  • Follow-up on initiated measures.
  • Dialogue-based collection of information.

When employed in Children & Families you become part of a workplace that values well-being highly and allows space for the individual to use their core competencies in the professional work. We are committed to ensuring that everyone contributes to a safe and positive shared culture, while we together perform good social work. With us we are employed to both master handling of the core task and to master positive collaboration both internally and externally.

This means that in Children & Families we are employed to equal parts professionalism and cooperation – even when it is tough. Here, we are particularly committed to solving the tough together and to make the collaboration work in the best interests of the families.

Our expectations of you

We expect that you

  • Are a team player, and ready to take co-responsibility in the department's daily operations.
  • Know your strengths and development potential, just as you see the value of both receiving and giving advice and sparring.
  • Can reflect on your own practice as a natural and necessary part of being and remaining a skilled social worker.
  • Are prepared to contribute to the development of the department's methods for solving the core task for Learning, and you have good communicative skills – both orally and in writing.
  • Are able to collaborate with networks and partners around the families – and see the value of this.
  • Can handle a busy workday and have a good mood.
  • Are educated social worker and preferably with several years of experience in the field.
  • Have good knowledge of DUBU at user level.

Why you should choose us

In Child Disability we support and help each other. We offer appropriately challenging work, sparring and feedback to each other as a basis for development both individually and as a team. We do this both at our team meetings and ad hoc, as a natural part of being on a team together.

  • A high degree of own competence.
  • Opportunity to perform good social-educational work in the early and preventive field.
  • Opportunity to bring your own competences into play, and contribute to the development of the department.

About us

All citizens in Hedensted Municipality should move about well. We must, as a municipality, support them in that movement. For Children & Families this means that we must actively contribute to children and young people having the best possible prerequisites and safe learning environments both at home and in our institutions. We must support them in developing their participation capacity and opportunities. We see this as a shared responsibility, where the families, local communities and the municipality's offerings together create the movement for all children and young people.

Children & Families covers the specialized child and youth area for 0-18 years and citizens with refugee background the first three years in Denmark. We are organizationally placed under Learning.

The core task for Learning in Hedensted Municipality is “ Together we create movement, so that children and young people in committed communities develop into livable and future-ready people”. Likewise we have our collaboration principles, where we stand on, that Together we are strongest.

In Children & Families we, together with partners, focus on getting in touch with children, young people and their families with special needs earlier, and develop the interventions for the families. We are well on the way in implementing the Child Act - not only in Children & Families, but in all of Learning. We have just decided a common child and youth view “ All children and young people do as well as they can – let us together give them the opportunity" .

We have a special focus on involving the children, the young and their families, and work with interdisciplinary coordination and Signs of Safety – just as we develop different involvement tools depending on the child's/young person's age, functional level and challenges. We work purposefully with the systematic in case processes, and have a wide range of services to involve. We are across the entire Children & Families united in that we are each other's prerequisite for succeeding in creating change for the children, the young and their families, and must support each other in solving the task.
