Who we are
In Ballerup Municipality we have a Children and Youth Policy that forms the basis for our daily work. Words like community, education and leisure are pervasive in the close work and professional assessments.
We are ambitious and we set the bar high in our work with children, young people and families. We believe that if we are in close dialogue with the people it is about and take their wishes and needs as a starting point, we create the best conditions for children and young people to develop positively. We therefore also have a strong focus on involving the children and the young people in their own case, both in meetings with them and in the written documentation.
We collaborate across professions to find solutions together with the children, the young people and the families and do not allow professional and organizational divisions to hinder good solutions. Ballerup Municipality works with Coordinated Citizen Pathways as a method across the municipality, where cross-disciplinary collaboration takes place.
In the Family Team we work in five smaller district teams, each consisting of 7-9 advisors connected to two team leaders. We have chosen this to ensure closer collegial communities and more present leadership.
The Child and Youth Advisors in the Family Team handle all types of cases and tasks, and the work is therefore broad. We have chosen this to avoid unnecessary advisor changes in line with the intentions of the Children Act, but also because we believe it helps create skilled child and youth advisors.
