About the job

Foodjob Nordic is seeking on behalf of Carletti a financially strong and commercially oriented Commercial Business Development Manager with responsibility for the home market. You will have a central role in the commercial organization and become a close sparring partner for the Sales and Marketing Director, Business Unit Managers and Marketing.

Based on finance, data and market insight, you will help make Carletti sharper on, among other things, pricing, profitability, assortment, product mix and new business opportunities, and help translate decisions into action.

The position is without managerial responsibilities, but with a broad range of contacts and significant influence on the development of the Home Market. You report to the Sales and Marketing Director, and the job is based in Skødstrup near Aarhus.

Company

Carletti A/S is located in Skødstrup near Aarhus and develops, produces and sells a wide range of chocolate and confectionery products for the Danish market, cross-border trade and for export. The company also has activities in, among others, Poland and Finland and is part of the family-owned Givesco group. Carletti is an FMCG company with strong brands, own production facilities and big ambitions for continued development. The company works across different categories, customer groups and markets.

This places high demands on understanding where growth and profitability are created and how finance, market data, product economics and commercial opportunities are translated into the right priorities.

The role

You will become the cross-functional financial and commercial engine for the Home Market. Thus finance is an important starting point for the role. You must understand what drives turnover, margins and profitability, and actively use that insight in your work with customers, categories, segments and products. At the same time you should have an appetite for the commercial part of the business. You should be able to look beyond the numbers, understand the market and customers, and help translate analyses into concrete initiatives.

You drive analyses, recommendations and business cases and push initiatives forward in close collaboration with the responsible Business Unit Managers. Decisions on pricing, assortment and other commercial priorities are made together with the commercial management.

The role sits at the intersection of finance, customers, categories, segments and products. You do not stop at the analysis. You follow the initiatives through implementation and ensure that there is follow-up on the results that were expected.

For Carletti the equation is: Insights × Pricing & Mix × Cost Discipline → Profitable Growth

Your primary tasks

Your most important areas of responsibility will be to

  • Identify opportunities for growth and improved profitability across customers, categories, segments and products
  • Take a central responsibility for pricing and profitability across customers, categories and segments in close collaboration with the commercial management
  • Develop recommendations for pricing, assortment, product mix and other commercial priorities
  • Prepare business cases for new products, concepts, customers and commercial initiatives
  • Translate market, consumer, shopper and category data into concrete recommendations
  • Be responsible for NielsenIQ and Kauza, including the agreements with the respective suppliers as well as the ongoing use and development of the systems
  • Ensure that data from NielsenIQ, Kauza and other data sources are used operationally in the organization and support daily commercial decision-making
  • Monitor developments in revenue, margins, COGS and product economics and identify improvement opportunities
  • Support Business Unit Managers in their work with their business plans
  • Drive cross-functional projects where financial, commercial and production perspectives must be brought together
  • Follow initiatives through implementation and follow up on the results

Finance remains responsible for the financial reporting and controlling. Your role is to use data and financial insight to qualify the commercial choices and create action in the organization.

Your qualifications

You have a relevant university degree in economics, business or similar and about 3–5 years of experience from a role where finance and commercial business meet. You could come from Commercial Finance, Revenue Growth Management, Business Controlling with close commercial contact, Category Management or a Business Partner role close to sales and marketing.

The most important thing is that you have a solid financial foundation and at the same time a clear interest in sales, customers and the commercial reality.

It is an advantage if you have experience from FMCG, retail or another industry with high complexity and a focus on both growth and profitability.

In addition we emphasize that you

  • Have strong analytical and financial skills
  • Understand P&L, margins, COGS, pricing and product economics
  • Can translate financial insight and data into clear commercial recommendations
  • Have understanding of pricing and profitability across customers, categories and segments
  • Have experience with business cases and follow-up on initiatives
  • Are strong in Excel and used to working with BI and analytics tools
  • Can communicate complex issues in a simple and precise way
  • Have commercial curiosity and interest in customers and sales
  • Can influence the organization and create momentum without formal people management responsibility

You thrive in a role where results are created through collaboration, and where your influence is built on professionalism, credibility and strong relationships.

Carletti offers

You will have a central role in a Danish-owned company where decision paths are short, and where you come close to both management and the daily business.

The position gives you the opportunity to combine finance, analysis, business development and commercial execution and to see a direct link between your recommendations and the company’s results.

You will become part of a commercial organization with high ambitions and gain a broad contact surface across Carletti.
