About the job

Community Coordinator for Active Senior Living

Do you want to create stronger communities and increase prevention efforts locally?

Two permanent positions

  • 37 hours • Employment starting 1 December • Workplace in Gislev

In Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality we believe that a good life is about more than help and support. It’s about belonging, having relationships and being an active part of a community.

Therefore we are looking for two community coordinators for active senior life, who will translate the Older People Act’s ambitions for citizenship, communities and prevention into concrete action.

A new function with room to shape the development

As a community coordinator you will have a central role in developing the preventive effort in the health and elderly area. You do not need to create more municipal activities. Your task is to strengthen what already exists, develop new opportunities where they can arise, and build bridges between citizens, volunteers, associations, local communities and municipal offerings. The goal is that more older people experience belonging, participation and quality of life through an active senior life.

Two positions with a local focus

We are looking for one coordinator for the northern part of the municipality, including areas around, among others, Ringe, Nr. Lyndelse, Ferritslev and Gislev, and one for the southern part, including the area around Korinth, Faaborg, Faldsled, Millinge and Brobyværk. Both positions are based in Gislev, but the tasks are carried out where opportunities arise.

Your main tasks

  • support close collaboration with home care and nursing through sharing knowledge about local services and communities that can strengthen citizens’ quality of life and self-reliance
  • build a bridge between older citizens and local activities, networks and communities
  • strengthen collaboration with volunteers, associations, churches, cultural institutions and other local actors
  • make participation opportunities visible so that citizens and partners can more easily find their way
  • support new local initiatives where relevant opportunities are lacking, e.g., in nursing homes and in the local area
  • facilitate meetings, networks and collaborative processes and translate ideas into action and results
  • contribute to the implementation of the Older People Act’s focus on citizenship and prevention.
  • Share knowledge about offerings in the voluntary sector with municipal partners

We imagine you

  • are relationship-driven, curious and action-oriented
  • can create engagement and bring together different stakeholders around common goals
  • can build trust, collaboration and momentum
  • work independently and in a structured way and follow up so that initiatives are anchored
  • have experience with development tasks, project management, co-creation with civil society
  • are a confident facilitator who can stand in front of both smaller and larger groups
  • articulate yourself clearly in writing and can prepare briefs and materials.
  • have experience with volunteering, prevention or the elderly area.

What you will get with us

You will become part of the Prevention and Communities team in Health and Elderly.

You will have engaged colleagues with different professional backgrounds, who work purposefully with their core tasks and are happy to provide professional sparring.

The role is new in the municipality. You will thus, together with your colleague, have a rare opportunity to shape the role and put your/your joint mark on how we together with citizens and local communities create strong communities for the elderly.

You will succeed in the role when

  • more older people find their way to and actively participate in local communities
  • citizens experience greater belonging, quality of life and opportunity for participation
  • the collaboration between the municipality, civil society and volunteers becomes stronger
  • the effort supports that more people can maintain an active and independent life for as long as possible.

Practical information

Both positions are permanent and initially 37 hours per week.

Faaborg-Midtfyn is a geographically large municipality, and you must therefore have a driving license. A municipal service car will be provided.

The job involves meetings outside normal working hours, mainly in the afternoon and evening.

Employment is on the basis of the applicable collective agreement and pay is based on education, relevant experience and competencies. The final salary is set after negotiations with the bargaining organization.

Application process

The application deadline is 19 October 2026 at 23:59

The interviews will be held on Tuesday, 27 October in Gislev.

As part of the process you will receive a case before the interview, which you must present to the selection committee. Want to know more?

If you have any questions about the position, you are welcome to contact: Area Manager of Prevention and Training Lotte Lagoni, tel. 7253 8243 / [email protected]). // Not available in week 42.
