About the job

Are you the type to make things happen? Get2sport is seeking a new coordinator

Can you create structure in chaos - and communities that make a difference? Do you thrive with coordinating, building relationships and finding solutions when plans change? Can you speak with both volunteer coaches, young people, parents and partners – and are you eager to work when children and young people are on break?

Then you may be our new colleague at Get2sport.

With us two days are rarely the same. One day you help a volunteer coach get the team to function. The next you are in dialogue with families, associations or partners about how more children and young people can become part of a positive community.

We are looking for an engaged and proactive colleague who loves coordinating, building relationships and turning good ideas into action. You thrive in a changing daily life where not everything can be planned in advance, but where, with initiative, overview and good collaboration skills, you make things succeed. You will have a meaningful job close to children, young people, volunteers and the local community, where you can see the results of your work – every day.

You will become part of an effort where sport is the tool, community is the goal, and the crime-prevention effect is an important part of the direction.

About the job

At Get2Sport you help support a well-functioning sports association life in disadvantaged residential areas in Odense. Our task is to relieve the voluntary forces in the sports associations so the volunteers can concentrate on training and club management instead of dealing with practical and social problems. We strengthen the conditions for volunteers in the associations so they have the desire, skills and resources to be volunteer leaders and coaches for the area's children and young people.

Without the voluntary forces there would be no club life for the area's children and young people. The Get2sport effort is necessary because there are a number of special challenges for sports associations in disadvantaged housing areas. Get2sport is part of the Danish Sports Confederation and is anchored in the Odense Municipality in the Center for Family and Youth, Crime Prevention Coordination.

The position is for someone motivated by both creating structure behind the scenes and being present where the activities take place.

You will play a central role in supporting and developing local club efforts that give more children and young people access to positive communities. Therefore you must thrive in a daily life where you switch between coordination, administration and close collaboration with volunteers as well as children, young people and their families – including children and young people from the 10 most multi-criminal families in Odense.

You have an eye for detail, can manage finances, follow-up and data, and at the same time you are motivated by building relationships and getting activities to succeed in practice. You do not need to lead the field, but you must want to be close to the club life and understand what it takes to get people, activities and communities to function.

You will be responsible for

  • coordinating and supporting the daily operation of IF09
  • developing, communicating and implementing local Get2sport initiatives
  • planning, coordinating and following up on activities and events
  • collecting and following up on data about the efforts
  • contributing to budget follow-up, financial management and administrative tasks across projects and efforts

In addition, you contribute to the team’s overall core activities by

  • supporting the daily operation of club activities
  • creating and maintaining collaboration with children, young people, families, volunteers and local clubs
  • supporting volunteer leaders and coaches in their work with children and young people

You must be flexible with working hours, as part of the work occurs in the afternoon, evening and weekends when children and young people are free and the club life is in progress.

About us

You will become part of Get2sport Odense, where we work every day to give more children and young people access to positive communities through club life. We believe sport can be a path to well-being, new opportunities and a path away from crime. We work closely with local associations, volunteers, families and partners to create real change.

In everyday life you will be part of an engaged Get2sport team consisting of four permanent employees and several project-based colleagues. We are a team with diverse professional backgrounds, but with a common ambition to translate good ideas into concrete activities and strong communities. With us there is little distance from thought to action, and we help each other succeed. There is room for both professional debates, sparring and laughter in daily life, and we emphasize that everyone contributes to the community and takes responsibility for the shared task.

As an employee at Get2sport you also become part of DIF Get2sport’s nationwide network, where you have the opportunity for knowledge sharing, professional sparring and collaboration with colleagues from all over the country.

Get2sport Odense is organizationally anchored in Crime Prevention Coordination, where you join a professional community with around 20 dedicated colleagues. Together we work to create better opportunities for children, young people and families through preventive efforts, strong relationships and close collaboration across municipality, schools, associations, police and civil society.

Crime Prevention Coordination is part of the Center for Family and Youth, where Odense Municipality’s specialized crime-related work is gathered. We are an ambitious and professional workplace with high expectations for both professionalism and collaboration. We take joint responsibility for the task, help each other succeed and believe that the best results are created when skilled colleagues work closely together toward a common purpose.

About you

You are motivated by creating opportunities for children and young people through club life. At the same time you have an eye for the structure and coordination needed to make activities, projects and collaborations function in practice. You thrive in a role where you move between dialogue with volunteers and families, coordinating activities and following up on finances, data and administration.

We imagine that you

  • have experience with club life, volunteering or leisure sector and know the opportunities and challenges that come with work in and around associations
  • have experience with coordination, administration, financial follow-up and documentation and work in a structured way to create overview and progress
  • can build strong relationships with children, young people, families, volunteers and professional partners and thrive in a daily life with many contact surfaces
  • work independently, take initiative and manage to make tasks succeed, even when plans change along the way
  • have a relevant educational background and a desire to combine administrative tasks with a visible role close to activities and club life

Maybe you are the type who can easily use the morning for administrative work and the afternoon in a sports hall together with volunteers and children. If you can see yourself in both parts, we would love to hear from you.
