About the job

Do you want to help ensure that the Defence's acquisitions are carried out with the greatest possible regard for people and the environment?

We can offer an exciting and developmental position, where you will play a central role in the work with responsible procurement in the Danish Defence Acquisition and Procurement Agency (FMI).

About us

You will become part of Sustainability (SUS), which is FMI's competence center for Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG). The section has a wide range of exciting and challenging sustainability tasks in a large and complex organization, not least at a critical time.

SUS’s task is to support FMI so that the many and diverse procurements burden people and the environment as little as possible. You can also read more about our Sustainability work on our website: www.FMI.dk.

SUS consists of 10 dedicated employees distributed across a CSR team, which you will become part of, and a climate/environment team. We place great emphasis on professionalism, development, well-being and a good social community.

About the position

As a CSR consultant you contribute broadly to the CSR team's tasks. You will have a varied everyday life with administrative, analytical and coordinating tasks, which you solve both independently and in collaboration with the rest of the team.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization as well as with external suppliers and stakeholders.

You will be employed as either a pełdmægtig (administrative officer), special consultant or chief consultant depending on your qualifications and experience.

Your tasks will include

· Screening of potential suppliers.

· Assessment of suppliers' work with CSR-related due diligence.

· Preparation and conduct of follow-up on CSR requirements towards suppliers.

· Participation in negotiations with suppliers.

· Preparation of decision papers, notes and other material to FMI’s top management.

· Handling of public records requests.

· Responding to press inquiries and political questions.

· Teaching colleagues across FMI in CSR.

· Advising on CSR-related issues.

· Contributing to the operation and maintenance of our supplier database.

We place emphasis on flexibility, and there will be opportunities for up to two weekly home-working days, especially after the initial training period.

About you

You have a relevant academic education and an interest in CSR/ESG. You do not necessarily need to have experience with all the tasks mentioned, but we emphasize that you have a solid professional foundation and a desire to develop within the field.

We particularly value

· Your interest in CSR/ESG.

· 3-5+ years of experience with CSR/ESG work.

· Your experience from larger public organizations, including your strategic understanding as well as your political and process-oriented mindset.

· Your experience with preparing case papers, decision papers and other written material – including your ability to convey complex professional content clearly and concisely.

· Your experience with following up on requirements towards suppliers.

· Your experience with negotiating with suppliers.

· Your ability to work in a structured, solution-oriented and responsible manner.

· Your ability to collaborate across disciplines and build good relationships.

· Your willingness to contribute to a well-functioning team and take responsibility for common tasks.

· Your ability to thrive in an environment where it can be busy, and where it is important to be able to prioritize and maintain overview.

It is an advantage if you have some knowledge of the Defence, but this is not a requirement.

Terms of employment

The appointment is made in accordance with the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of professional associations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility to negotiate supplements. There is an employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

The working hours are 37 hours per week including a lunch break.

The workplace is in Ballerup.

As an employee within the Ministry of Defence area you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance throughout your employment.

You have, as an employee, an obligation to perform service outside the country's borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.

About the Danish Defence Acquisition and Procurement Agency

The Danish Defence Acquisition and Procurement Agency (FMI) is Denmark’s central authority for the armed forces’ and emergency services’ materiel, IT and cyber security in peace, crisis and war. We work to ensure that the entire defense is equipped, updated and operational — in a time when the demands on speed and power of combat are greater than ever. We are the ones who procure, operate and dispose of materiel and IT for the Army, Navy, Air Force and the rest of the Ministry of Defence's group.

It is our IT staff who daily help to avert the cyber-attacks the organization is subjected to. We are a diverse organization with about 2,500 employees — civilian and military — spread across the entire kingdom.
