Cultural mediator for Korsør Culture House and Slagelse Libraries

We are seeking a cultural mediator who will split 50/50 between development and operation in Korsør Culture House and at Slagelse Libraries.

Korsør Kulturhus

At Korsør Culture House you will help develop new initiatives and activities, host events that can take place on all days of the week, and work with various volunteers.

Slagelse Libraries

In addition to library shifts at the libraries in Slagelse and Korsør, you as part of our children’s team will join a working group on the development and delivery of offerings to primary school pupils. In addition you will have responsibility for the duty roster and training of book arrangers at one of our libraries.

We work strategically and structured to strengthen our local anchoring, get closer to the citizens and ensure that everyone has equal opportunities to develop strong information literacy.

In connection with event execution and library shifts there may be work on all days of the week and at times outside of 'office hours'.

What we expect

We are looking for an employee who is not afraid to put themselves in play, whether it is in event execution, in meetings with school pupils, in read-aloud situations at the library or in collaboration with the volunteers in the culture house.

We want a colleague who is good at creating relationships, has pedagogical tact and local knowledge.

You must have a driving licence for a regular passenger car.

The organization

Korsør Kulturhus and Slagelse Libraries are part of the Center for Culture, Leisure and Citizen Service in Slagelse Municipality.

Working hours are 37 hours per week. The position includes fixed lending shifts at the libraries in Slagelse and Korsør as well as presence at the Culture House in Korsør.

There is also a fixed Saturday shift about every 5th week and a weekly library shift until 17:00. There can regularly be evening and weekend work in connection with events at the culture house.

The position is desired to be filled from 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
