About the job

We are looking for an engaged and professionally strong Danish and class teacher for the middle level, who also wishes to teach in our reception classes for students in grades 7–9. In addition, there will be occasional hours in the humanities subjects.

You see learning and well-being as two sides of the same coin, and you share our fundamental understanding that Danish is a core subject that forms the foundation for students' learning across subjects and later in life. For you, Danish is not just a teaching subject – it is a subject you are truly passionate about.

You have a particular interest in Danish as a second language and work purposefully to ensure that all students develop functional and usable Danish-language competencies. You take pride in ensuring that your students develop academically in a safe and inclusive learning environment, where there is also attention to each student’s well-being.

As our upcoming teacher, you will work purposefully to ensure that all students become as competent as they can be, while also having a sharp eye for their well-being and participation in the community. You can document good subject results and high well-being from your current work or studies and are eager to bring your experiences to us. At the same time, you are motivated by contributing to the development of reception classes and see it as an exciting and meaningful task.

Nymarkskolen is an sports-focused school, and movement is a natural part of our everyday life. Therefore we expect that you can and will integrate movement into your teaching as a natural part of the students' learning.

If you would like to experience the atmosphere at Nymarkskolen, you are very welcome to contact us and arrange a visit – we will be ready with coffee/soda and look forward to meeting you.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • is a trained teacher with a teaching subject in Danish
  • is specialized in Danish as a second language – or is eager to become so
  • is a calm and clear adult who stands strong in classroom management
  • can meet the students with respect, care and a resource-oriented mindset
  • can remain calm and see beyond students' behavior – even when it gets difficult
  • is engaged and reliable
  • can take shared responsibility for the team’s common tasks
  • collaborates constructively with colleagues, management, parents and students

Who are we?

At Nymarkskolen we place great emphasis on community, as we believe it strengthens us in our shared task of ensuring learning and well-being for all students. Our values are: learning, movement, cooperation, diversity, well-being and community.

We have 600 students distributed over 2–3 tracks from kindergarten (preschool) to grade 9, as well as 74 staff members. Nymarkskolen is a sports school and has the municipality’s only sports talent line for grades 7–9. In addition, we have a special classes series from kindergarten to 9th grade and reception classes for the oldest students in Slagelse town.

We offer

  • a well-functioning school where there is room both for the newly trained and the experienced teacher
  • a strong team collaboration in year groups, class teams and subject teams
  • opportunity for professional sparring and mentoring
  • flexible work hours
  • opportunity to add lunch in Madkassen , where Pia prepares delicious meals
