We currently need caring adults to take care of our lovely daycare children in the Tommerup area.

Therefore we are looking for engaged colleagues for our municipal daycare team. You must reside in the postal code 5690 Tommerup.

We are looking for daycare providers who, in collaboration with the head, daycare educator and colleagues, will help give children aged 0-3 years a stable start in life in safe and developmental settings.

This is a temporary position expected to last about 1 year with a good possibility of renewal. In addition, we expect in the next few years to hire new daycare providers on a permanent basis, as a number of our good employees expect to retire.

Start date is 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible.

Who we are The daycare service in the Tommerup area is part of the Daycare Services in Tommerup. The daycare provision covers the entire 5690 area, Børnehuset Himmelrummet and Himmelrummet’s nursery in Tommerup St., and the integrated institution Overmarksgården in Tommerup.

The daycare is an exciting workplace in development, where the children’s well-being, learning, development and formation are in focus. There are 13 daycare providers employed in the area (one man and 12 women), and there are about 45 children. In addition, there is a skilled and motivating daycare educator who has close collaboration with the daycare providers.

About the job As a daycare provider, you work with very young children at the ages when they are most impressionable, and you will thus play an important role as one of the closest care providers in the child’s daily life.

The job as a daycare provider requires you to be good at structuring your own daily life and to enjoy working independently. It is important that the family is prepared for the home to become your workplace. Your home must have good facilities both inside and outside and must be able to accommodate four to five children.

You must be available 48 hours per week during the hours 06:00-17:00 depending on the parents’ needs. The 48 hours entitle you to six extra days off per year. In addition, you will receive a large tax deduction because your home constitutes a workplace.

In Assens Municipality we have a full-day playroom once a week. You will be attached to a playgroup with three-four daycare providers. The playgroup takes place in lovely premises in the station town, where we share building and playground with Himmelrummet’s Nursery.

We place high value on a good and developmental early life. Here there must be space to see the individual child as well as the community within the child group, and care and security must be provided in home-like surroundings.

We place high value on parent collaboration, and this will be an important part of your daily work. In addition, we work with a basis in curriculum themes and the daycare Act.

The work as a daycare provider is very independent, but you are not alone. You will enter into a professional and binding collaboration with sparring and community with both daycare and institutional colleagues, daycare educator and management.

You will also be provided with an iPad, as part of communication and pedagogical work takes place via mail and Aula.

You will have the opportunity to participate in courses, and there are evening meetings about four times a year, some of which are with the institutional staff.

Your home must be non-smoking during opening hours.

• have a professional approach to the job and can reflect on yourself and your own practice
• have the will and ability to closely, openly and trustfully collaborate with all types of parents
