Would you like to help start a new cooking school at an exciting public school in Ørestad, where together we create the framework for a good childhood and focus on taste, sustainability and collaboration?

We are looking for a committed and reliable dishwasher for our cooking school in Copenhagen. We emphasize that you enjoy working with children and young people.

In the City of Copenhagen we put taste and sustainability at the forefront when we cook for the city's children. Right now we are about to start a new cooking school at Arena School and Leisure. This school year we have about 650 children and the aim is that 80% or more are enrolled in the cooking school.

The cooking schools in Copenhagen Municipality unite the midday meal with learning and food education. There are 23 cooking schools across the city, and the kitchen teams continuously exchange experiences and spar with each other across the city. We will become the newest cooking school in the family.

At Arena School and Leisure you will be part of a strong and engaged community, where the daily meal becomes an important part of the pedagogical learning environment. You will actively contribute with your knowledge, creativity and professionalism.

In the job you will help set the direction for our cooking school for grades 0 through 7 in collaboration with our kitchen team. Our goal is not to make 'kids' food', but to make tasty food that can inspire and nourish the students. Beacons such as taste, health, variety, nutrition, food courage, learning and inspiration are elements we work with on a daily basis.

Your tasks

• overall responsibility for organizing dishwashing, cleaning in the kitchen and general help
• preparation of dishwashing towers and -tables
• ensure good hygiene in dishwashing and in the kitchen
• waste sorting
• lighter kitchen assistance as needed (e.g., cutting vegetables, preparation)
• help keep the kitchen tidy and functional during the day.

We expect that you

• thrive with practical work and have a good sense of order and hygiene
• can work independently and in a structured way, even when it gets busy
• are punctual and reliable
• have a positive and welcoming attitude towards students and colleagues
• speak and understand Danish and English, since you will be in daily contact with the students
• prefer to have experience from kitchens, canteens or similar, but we also welcome you if you are new to the sector and eager to learn.

It is advantageous if you have experience working with children or young people, enjoy being part of a team and helping out where needed.

Employment terms

The position is a fixed part-time position of 20 hours per week in the time frame 10:00-14:00. We wish you can start as soon as possible. The workplace is Arena School and Leisure cooking school. Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. In connection with the employment we will obtain child and criminal records and take references.
