About the job

Do you want to help create strong leadership and high quality in home care?

As a district manager, you will be an important part of a home care service where professionalism, collaboration and care for both citizens and staff are central. You are close to daily operations and create direction, security and engagement through visible and present leadership. Together with your leadership colleagues you take responsibility for the whole and actively contribute to developing a home care where we succeed through unity, quality and a strong cross-disciplinary collaboration.

So you may be our new district manager in Home Care.

One home care in development

The Home Care in Helsingør Municipality provides multidisciplinary care and support pathways to about 1,700 citizens and consists of about 500 employees distributed across six sites.

We have brought home care under one common leadership and work across districts to create a stronger shared direction, greater coherence and a shared responsibility for the entire home care. At the same time, we are in an exciting development, where among other things holistic care, fixed multidisciplinary teams, the Elder Reform and the Health Reform place new demands on how we collaborate, lead and organize ourselves.

As district manager you will therefore be an important part of both the local leadership in your district and the development of the overall home care.

About the job

You report to the home care manager and, together with the other district managers, form part of the home care's overall leadership team. You must create the framework for employees to succeed with the core task, and for citizens to experience a professionally sound, coherent and dignified effort.

Your leadership must be visible, engaging and clear. You must be able to set direction and follow up – but also be curious about practice and create engagement and ownership through dialogue and involvement.

An important part of the task is to ensure the daily operations function. You must have an eye for resources, capacity, economy and the working environment and be able to prioritize when everyday needs and considerations pull in different directions.

At the same time we expect you to lift your gaze from your own district. We want a strong leadership community where the district managers take shared responsibility for the entire home care, share knowledge and experiences and find solutions across.

You will among other things be responsible for

  • creating clear direction and ensuring stable and well-functioning daily operations
  • leading, developing and retaining employees and supporting a good working environment
  • ensuring high professional quality and coherence in citizens' pathways
  • working systematically with resource management, capacity planning and economy
  • translating new requirements, strategies and decisions into meaningful practice
  • supporting the implementation of new workflows and development initiatives
  • closely collaborating with coordinators and other professional and supportive functions
  • actively contributing to cross-disciplinary collaboration around citizens' total needs
  • being an active part of the home care leadership group and contributing to shared solutions across the districts.

Who are you?

We are looking for a leader who can stand firmly in daily operations and help develop the home care.

You have leadership experience and preferably experience from the health and care sector or another complex operations organization. You understand what it takes to lead staff with different professional backgrounds and create balance between professional quality, well-being, citizens' needs and the resources available.

As a person you are a leader who builds trust through presence, clarity and integrity. You have the courage to set direction and make decisions, even when the framework changes. At the same time you meet people and tasks with curiosity, collaborate naturally across boundaries and have an eye for both staff, professional quality, operations and the shared task in home care.

You will be part of a strong leadership community

You will become part of a leadership group where we want to use each other actively and take joint responsibility for the development of home care. We work with clearer common frameworks and direction, while there must be room for leadership close to the employees and the local daily life.

You are not alone with the task either. The home care has cross-cutting functions that support operations, quality and development, and there is access to support functions in areas such as HR, finance, working environment as well as quality and development.

We offer

  • A diverse leadership position with great opportunity to influence both daily life in your own district and the development of the entire home care.
  • A workplace with high professionalism, engaged employees and large ambitions for the future of home care.
  • A leadership community where collaboration, shared responsibility and development are high on the agenda.
  • Opportunities for ongoing leadership development and professional sparring.
