About the job
Brøndbyvester Skole seeks an engaged German teacher
Are you passionate about the German language and eager to create joy in learning, curiosity, and good relationships with students in primary and lower secondary school? Do you want to make German instruction lively and meaningful so students gain the confidence to use the language and the desire to learn more? Then you may be the person we are looking for at Brøndbyvester Skole!
We are seeking a skilled and relationship‑oriented German teacher who wants to make a difference for our students in the upper elementary/early secondary school. The position is based on German teaching, but we are open to adapting the scope and content of the role to your competences, interests and wishes. You can therefore be the right candidate for either a part-time or a full-time position.
Here, there is room to create your own position. Perhaps you have a particular passion for the German subject and language communication, and perhaps you also have other competences and interests that can be brought into daily school life. We would like to have a dialogue with you about how we together can create a role that makes sense for both you and our students.
About the position
- Teaching German in the upper elementary/early secondary years.
- Opportunity to shape and develop the teaching with your own ideas and professional interests.
- Opportunity for a part-time or full-time position depending on your competences and wishes.
- Opportunity to bring in other relevant competences and help shape the content of the role.
- A workplace focused on professional development, strong relationships and good communities among students and staff.
Our view of children – all children should have the opportunity to succeed
At Brøndbyvester Skole we work from a shared view of children
“Children and young people do the best they can with the competences they have. It is the adults’ responsibility to involve children and young people in positive communities and learning environments with equal access to explore, develop and thrive.”
This means that we meet children and young people with curiosity, respect and positive expectations. We believe that all students have the potential to develop, and that it is our responsibility as adults to create the framework for them to succeed academically, socially and personally.
As a teacher with us, you help create a safe and motivating learning environment where students feel seen, heard and taken seriously. We know that children are different and need different approaches, challenges and forms of support. Therefore, it is important that you can adapt your teaching and create space for both individuality and belonging.
In the German lessons you will have the opportunity to awaken students’ curiosity about language and culture, to create courage to try things out, and to show them that making mistakes is part of learning. We want students to experience German as a living language they can use to understand the world around them.
We imagine that you …
- Are trained as a teacher and have experience teaching German in primary/lower secondary school.
- Are passionate about instruction and can make teaching engaging, varied and meaningful.
- Have strong relational skills and can create safe environments where students dare to participate and develop.
- Meet students with recognition, clarity and positive expectations.
- Can adapt teaching to students’ different prerequisites and needs.
- Want to collaborate with colleagues on students’ academic development, well-being and participation in the community.
What we can offer you?
At Brøndbyvester Skole you will be part of a workplace where professionalism, community and well-being go hand in hand. We prioritise close cooperation between colleagues and management and want to create frameworks where staff ideas, initiatives and professional interests can be expressed. Brøndbyvester Skole is a large school spread across two sites. This position is attached to the Tornehøj department, where we have students from 5th to 9th grade.
Here you will be part of a learning environment where collaboration, professional development and good relationships are important everyday elements. The most important thing is not that you can do everything from the start, but that you want to make a difference for our students and contribute positively to the community.
We want to create a position where you can bring your strengths into play, develop your professional interests and have influence on your daily life. We believe the best solutions arise in dialogue, and therefore we are curious about what you can contribute and how together we can help your competences to flourish.
