About the job

Are you present, courageous and listening—and can you use those abilities to set the pedagogical direction? Then you should definitely be the new school leader at Holmegårdsskolen in Hvidovre!

Do you want to lead the development of a strong school with high ambitions and a big heart?

Are you passionate about pedagogical leadership, strong communities and children's learning, well-being and development? Are you a visible and relationship-focused leader who can set the direction, build followership and translate visions into action? Then you may be the new school leader at Holmegårdsskolen in Hvidovre Municipality.

About us Holmegårdsskolen is a lively and well-functioning school with engaged staff, capable leaders, fantastic children and an active parent group, all contributing to the school's strong community.

Holmegårdsskolen is a school with a strong culture and talented and committed staff, who are passionate about creating the best school for all our children. We are ambitious on our own and the children's behalf and we are lucky to have a fantastic group of children and an engaged parent group.

For us it is crucial that we listen to each other and develop the school in common. This applies to management, among staff and in dialog with the students.

In daily work we operate in well-functioning year-group teams and discuss both the community and the individual pupil. The collaboration between teachers and pedagogues is close, good and valuable, and we strive to create a good and varied school day for our children.

The management group is characterized by high professionalism, trust and sparring. Here no one stands alone with the task, and the collaboration with the other school leaders in Hvidovre Municipality is close and valuable.

About the position As school leader you will have the overall management of Holmegårdsskolen and a central role in the continued development of the school's professional and pedagogical profile.

You will also be an important part of Hvidovre Municipality's joint development work "A school for all", where we across schools, day care and children and family services work to create inclusive learning communities and the best opportunities for all children and young people.

You must together with the school's leadership and staff further develop a school where professionalism, well-being and community go hand in hand. This includes, among other things:

  • Set a clear direction for the school's continued development
  • Create followership through dialogue, involvement and clear expectations
  • Support strong professional learning communities
  • Ensure coherence between school and after-school care (SFO), so the children experience a whole and meaningful day
  • Work strategically with pupils' learning, well-being and participation opportunities
  • Ensure sustainable operations with focus on resources, economy and organization
  • Strengthen cooperation with parents, board and other partners

We are looking for a school leader who can listen and involve, but who also dares to make decisions and stand clearly for them. You manage to create security in change and see opportunities where others see limitations.

About you We are looking for a school leader who

  • Is visible, engaged and approachable
  • Is structured and can follow decisions through to the end
  • Can think in new directions, but with respect for existing initiatives and culture
  • Is visionary and can lead the way in creating "a school for all"
  • Is a strong and clear communicator with good mentalizing ability
  • Can lead as school leader and create both direction and followership
  • Has organizational overview
  • Is listening and visible to both pupils, parents and staff
  • Is a team player
  • Has knowledge of and interest in financial management
  • Has leadership experience and a diploma/master in leadership or similar
