Genklang seeks an outreach youth worker who can establish contact, build trust and help young people take the first step toward support.

Some young people live with one reality at home and present another outwardly. They take care of their family, keep secrets and may have difficulty telling what they are facing.

Therefore we cannot wait for them to find the courage or the words to ask for help.

We must reach out. It will be your most important task.

Genklang is a free offering for young people between 12 and 24 years old who grow up in families where alcohol or drugs are a dominant issue. The offering is funded by the Danish Agency for Social and Housing and is part of the Carelink Group.

You meet the young people where they are

On the high street, at schools and educational institutions and at events. You take the initiative to make contact and make Genklang known and accessible.

You are curious, listen and can tell concisely and engagingly about our offering. You can sense when there is room to ask more questions, and when the young person needs time.

You will, among other things

• Directly contact young people and tell them about the possibilities for free help.
• Plan and carry out outreach activities together with the team.
• Do outreach work at schools, educational institutions and professionals who meet young people.
• Help interested young people progress to counseling and programs with our professional staff.
• Work with clear goals and use the experiences to improve recruitment.

You take initiative and follow up

Your educational background is not decisive, but you must have experience from outreach work, recruitment, sales or work with young people. We emphasise that you can create contact and translate it into more young people getting help.

We are looking for someone who

• Thrives on meeting new people and taking the first contact themselves.
• Can talk about a sensitive topic with respect and without pressuring.
• Works independently and in a structured way.
• Maintains energy, even when many decline a conversation.
• Is open to feedback and eager to develop together with colleagues.
• Is motivated by seeing tangible results from your work.

You must be able to participate in the conversation without requiring the young person to tell their story. A good first contact can also be to make it safe to return later.

A Meaningful and Responsible Job

At Genklang you become part of a team that works so that young people do not have to face what happens at home alone. You will receive guidance about the target group, our offerings and the outreach contact.

We have high ambitions for how many young people we should reach. Recruitment is therefore the central part of your work. We continually follow up on which activities create contact and help young people forward.

You should help open a door that can be difficult to find on your own.

Practical information

Workplace and geographic area: Genklang is nationwide, and you must therefore be prepared to move around and place yourself where the task is - both geographically and in terms of time. You must have a driving license and access to your own car.

Working hours: Full-time

Start date: As soon as possible
