About the job

Group Purchasing at the University of Copenhagen is seeking an e-commerce consultant with a start date of 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Do you want to drive development of and ensure optimal use of e-commerce at the University of Copenhagen? If you are keen to work with procurement in collaboration with talented colleagues and world-class researchers and become part of a strong scientific culture, here is an opportunity for you.

About us

Group Purchasing at the University of Copenhagen (KU) is a strategic function in rapid development. KU spends a total of about DKK 3 billion annually on procurement of goods and services, and Group Purchasing's core task is to ensure KU good, efficient agreements. An important prerequisite for efficiency is well-functioning e-commerce.

Today we operate KU’s internal warehouse logistics system, which ensures day-to-day delivery of the most used items for researchers at the Faculty of Health Sciences. The services in the webshop are in high demand and therefore need upgrading. In parallel, KU is about to implement the e-commerce module in the State Digital Purchasing (SDI).

In Group Purchasing we are currently 28 dedicated employees, and we need one more skilled employee to lift Group Purchasing further. We strive to create a solid knowledge environment with dedicated staff who are passionate about helping KU with even better procurement and who, like us, will be proud to be part of a unique workplace.

Your tasks

As an e-commerce consultant you will play a key role in the introduction of e-commerce at KU, including:

  • Support the rollout of an upgraded webshop
  • Drive the implementation and rollout of SDI in collaboration with skilled colleagues from, among others, Finance and IT
  • Understand and contribute to teaching and supporting new users (from webinars and guides to daily support)
  • Be responsible for operation and support of SDI after implementation, including
  • Participate in preparatory meetings with relevant parts of the business.
  • Ensure that new user groups and business areas get access to the right catalogs with the right goods and follow up where needed.
  • Collect and help to qualifiy improvement proposals from user dialogues and requests regarding goods/services from users – what are they missing, what is technically challenging, where can we help them adopt the system.
  • Participate in projects and collaborate closely with colleagues who support and run the webshop.
  • Supplier contact regarding setup of KU’s own agreements in SDI, including quality assurance of catalogs and product descriptions as well as testing of, e.g., punch-out solutions.
  • Contact SKI regarding any operational issues or other relevant matters related to SKI’s catalogs.
  • Understand sharing of agreements / product catalogs with the relevant users and user groups at KU.
  • Handle general communication to users about operational status of agreements (in the system itself and via other channels).
  • Set up and/or quality assure master data on system contracts related to the goods and services purchased in SDI and KU’s local agreements.
  • In collaboration with colleagues drive product development of KU’s digital procurement solutions and contribute to the ongoing development of user-oriented procurement support.

You will be involved in shaping the position as it is a newly established function, and you will have ample opportunities for continuing education in the form of courses, network participation and possibly formal educational programs.

We expect

At KU you meet many different people every day, with whom you must be able to work and procure goods for. It is essential for Group Purchasing at KU that we maintain ongoing close dialogue with our users and suppliers. Due to the size and variety of tasks, there is also a great need for systematic work and development of standards.

We expect that you

  • Have a strong procurement profile with good communication/support skills in writing and verbally.
  • Are good at quickly building relationships even outside the organization.
  • Have experience with public procurement, including SKI agreements and e-commerce.
  • Can advise users on guidelines and/or products and hold courses, information and networking meetings.
  • Can collaborate with others to reach a common goal in a relaxed environment, where there is also room for unconventional angles.

It is a plus if you have experience with implementing e-commerce systems and project management.

We offer

You will become part of an organization where flexibility and work-life balance are high on the agenda. You will therefore be offered equipment for a good home office to vary as much as possible with being at our main office in central Copenhagen and at home. There is an option for home office two days a week, and we have several people commuting from across Zealand.

Salary and terms of employment

The appointment is made as a full-time or specialist consultant under the collective bargaining agreement for Academics in the State. Remuneration under the AC agreement is seniority-based. There will be opportunities for negotiating additional allowances based on qualifications. The weekly working time is an average of 37 hours. We have flextime.
