Educator at Pomonahuset, services for people with eating disorders

At Pomonahuset, people live there who all suffer from severe and complex eating disorders. They are all working to learn to have a life without the restrictions that the disease imposes.

Pomonahuset works from a rehabilitation strategy for the youth, which concerns 1. Ensure survival, 2. Create motivation for life and 3. Create lasting changes for the youth.

We do this by putting the youth at the head of their own treatment. Your primary task will be to follow the youth on the journey and, through conversations and companionship, give them the courage to go out into the world.

Therefore we place high value on respect for the integrity of each citizen and provide the rehabilitative effort on the basis of a systematic and cognitive reference framework.

Supervision is mandatory with us and it is a requirement that you actively participate.

The house is full of professional specialists just like you and they will be there to help you perform well in your work. They will give you honest feedback and also expect to receive it. In daily life you will find yourself in the famous pedagogical paradox, whether to follow the recommended or follow the citizen's wish - here you must help the citizens to be the strongest voice.

It is not a requirement that you have knowledge of eating disorders.

Who are you as a professional

• You are trained as a social educator and may have experience from psychiatry.
• You are, with your mono-disciplinary focus, engaged in and contribute with pedagogical insight to the benefit of the citizens.
• You can document your professional efforts and argue for them.
• You can differentiate your professional input based on the citizen's personal development plan and rehabilitation process.
• It is natural for you to work in a team as well as easily engage in multidisciplinary collaborations with the network.
• You are open and respectful in communication and behavior, both in collaboration with colleagues and in citizen work.
• You are stable and actively contribute to the house's well-being.
• You can remain calm and consider yourself to be mentally robust.
• You must have a driver's license for a passenger car.

You will become part of an interdisciplinary staff group, which will challenge your mono-disciplinary approach and be curious to learn from you. Professional reflections and discussions are an important part of our everyday practice and are supported by a professional leader.

At Pomonahuset you will within the first 6 months be trained in eating disorder treatment from a social-psychiatric perspective.

The position is 37 hours per week. In the Region of Southern Denmark all positions must be advertised as full-time positions. However, it should be noted that if you choose to apply for the position, and you want a part-time position, you must state this in your application.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position.

You will be told the base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the collective agreement for: Social-pedagogical staff at residential institutions etc., collective agreement number 32.38.1

In addition to the starting salary, the position may include optionally negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. There may also be on-call allowances.
