About the job
Employment Counselor for Billund Municipality
The Employment Department in Billund Municipality seeks
A new professionally strong, flexible and approachable employment counselor for handling cases of citizens who are on sick leave.
In Billund Municipality we believe that all people have resources and something valuable to contribute in a work community. We involve the citizen in their own process to a high degree, as we have learned that this yields the best results. Our daily work is closely connected to Billund Municipality's four new values “WE HAVE A SOLUTION-MINDSET”, “WE SUCCEED BY HELPING TOGETHER”, “WE DO OUR BEST”, and “PLAYFUL WORKING IS OUR SUPERPOWER”.
We have also started a training program for all employees regarding reflective practice to strengthen the professional freedom the employment reform enables.
Can you see yourself in the role as the one who targeted, accommodating and helpfully returns responsibility to the citizen in relation to sickness absence and rapid return to the labor market, then we look forward to hearing from you
We are team-organised where professionalism, engagement and collaboration are the focus. We strive to deliver high-quality counseling and case handling and wish to be known for our strong professional level among citizens, businesses and partners. You will receive great independence and responsibility in task solving, supported by competent colleagues, a strong professional community and good opportunities for sparring and knowledge sharing.
We place emphasis on
As an employment counselor you meet citizens in a vulnerable situation and help them find the way back to the labor market. Therefore it is important that you can create trusting relationships, communicate clearly and balance support, guidance and the authority role in the meeting with the citizen. The work also requires the ability to coordinate efforts and ensure progress in cases.
We are looking for a colleague with a social-work background, preferably as a social worker or social mediator, but other relevant education or experience can also be relevant. Experience with the area is an advantage, but we also value curiosity, engagement and a desire to learn highly.
We place particular emphasis on, that you
- Have strong communication skills and can create constructive dialogue with the citizen
- Meet people with respect, empathy and professional understanding of their situation
- Are independent, robust, systematic and able to maintain overview in a changing daily life
- Prioritize high professionalism and ethical awareness in your case handling
- Thrive in interdisciplinary collaboration and can work with both internal and external actors
- Have good IT skills and work structured with documentation and data quality
- Proficiency in English or other foreign languages is an advantage
As sickness benefit advisor you will play a central role in supporting sick-listed citizens in their path back to the labor market. You will follow the citizen throughout the entire process and ensure a targeted effort in close cooperation with citizens, businesses and other partners.
Your tasks include among others
- Conduct follow-up conversations with citizens on sickness benefits, including roundtable conversations at workplaces and coordination with internal and external partners.
- Case processing and clarification in sickness benefit cases with focus on sustaining employment, returning to the labor market and use of relevant compensatory schemes.
- Assessment of possibilities for extension, job clarification programs, flex jobs, disability pension and senior pension, including preparation of recommendations for decisions on flex jobs and disability pension.
- Documentation and administration of cases, including journaling, registration in Fasit and preparation of citizens’ plans.
- Active participation in professional sparring, meetings, development programs and competency development together with colleagues and management.
We offer you
We offer a varied, exciting and meaningful job, where you will have great independence in task solving. At the same time you become part of a strong professional community, where sparring, knowledge sharing and job satisfaction are a natural part of everyday life. We prioritize well-being highly, have an informal tone, and are open to new ideas and solutions.
