Dedicated club staff to foster strong communities for children in Ellidshøj and Sebbersund

Do you want to create good communities for children in Ellidshøj and Sebbersund?

We are seeking 1-2 dedicated club staff who can help run a leisure provision for children in Ellidshøj and Sebbersund. The provision is free and opens once a week for 3 hours in each town.

The most important thing is not the activities themselves, but that children feel that the place is theirs and that there is an adult present who can create good communities. It is about creating a safe and cozy meeting place with room for everyone.

In addition to you, there will always be at least one (adult) volunteer present, so you never stand alone. You will, however, have the overall responsibility for the day's activities and framework.

Your tasks

As a club staff member you will be a central adult around the children and the volunteers at the venue. Your tasks will include:

• Be present and build good relationships with children (roughly grades 3-7)
• Support activities and initiatives together with the children
• Collaborate with local volunteers
• Take responsibility for planning and practical tasks related to the activities
• Be actively involved in the activities so that children want to participate

The activities can be very varied and depend on the children's interests. For example, they can include creative activities, cooking, gaming, music, workshop activities, sport, communal meals, small trips and much more.

We are looking for someone who

• Wants to work with children and build good relationships
• Is outgoing and a big kid at heart
• Thrives in collaboration with volunteers and the local community
• Is reliable, responsible and able to work independently

It is not essential which education you are pursuing or have completed. The position may be relevant for example students in pedagogy, teacher education, social work, culture, leisure or similar.

About Active Everyday Places

Active Everyday Places are local meeting places where children can come together for activities, belonging and interests close to their everyday lives. The offerings are developed in collaboration between the club staff member, local volunteers and the children themselves, focusing on well-being, participation and belonging in the local community.

Salary and terms of employment

We are looking for either one staff member to oversee the offerings in both Ellidshøj and Sebbersund, or two staff members, each attached to one offering.

The working hours are typically 3 hours per week per offering. The shift is from 14:00 to 18:00, and the exact opening hours are agreed closer. If you are attached to both offerings, you have one weekly shift at each site, while as an employee of one offering you have one weekly shift.

In addition there may be occasional hours for planning, special events and coordination as needed.

You will typically be employed 3 hours per week if attached to one offering, or 6 hours per week if attached to both. The offerings follow the schools' holiday and days off calendar and are therefore only open during school weeks, corresponding to 40 weeks per year. This amounts to approx. 120 or 240 hours per year. Employment takes place under the applicable collective agreement.

The offerings are located in Ellidshøj and Sebbersund, so it would be advantageous to have access to a car.

You will collaborate with local volunteers and Aalborg Municipality's Leisure and Rural Department, which supports the offering.

Prior to employment, we obtain a child and criminal record check.
