About the job

as of January 1, 2027

Are you a trained pedagogue who is professionally curious and motivated, who can see the different developmental possibilities and potentials in each individual child, then it will be a joy to welcome you to our lovely Children’s House.

We are a strong and cohesive staff group who together work to promote the children’s well-being and development. We have a collegial community with high professionalism and reflection, which should bring out the best in each other, therefore it is important to be curious and open to professional dialogue that promotes and raises the pedagogical quality and foundation in the pedagogical work. There is opportunity for influence, time for preparation and immersion.

As a pedagogue in our Children’s House you will play a meaningful role in creating a safe, loving, inspiring and meaningful everyday life for the children. You help ensure that each child is seen, heard and met with presence and respect.

In close collaboration with a dedicated team you plan and implement activities that awaken the children’s curiosity and joy in play and learning, while at the same time creating structure and security in daily life. You actively contribute to implementing the strengthened pedagogical curriculum and to developing a culture where reflection, care and community are central.

Your ideas and your engagement help shape our pedagogical practice and ensure good transitions for the children from nursery to kindergarten and on to after-school care (SFO). As something very special you also get the opportunity to bring nature, music and creativity into everyday life – both in our cozy outdoor spaces and in the nearby forest areas, which we often use for play and learning.

What you contribute

You have your heart in everything you do, and you are passionate about creating safe and loving frameworks for the youngest. You meet the children with warmth, presence and recognition, and you have an eye for each child’s needs and well-being. You thrive in a collaborative environment where care, professional dialogue and development go hand in hand, and you are motivated to contribute to a culture where reflection and community are prioritized highly. Whether you are a new graduate or have experience, it is your dedication to children’s well-being and development that makes you the right match for us.

Why choose us

In Børnehuset Lærkereden you become part of a warm, engaged and humorous team where care, well-being and community are in the foreground. With us you get the opportunity for professional sparring, development and support in an environment where we pull together. We focus on working in smaller groups and planning the day based on the current group of children with fixed weekly plans. We are good at putting our practice under scrutiny, receiving feedback and adjusting practice to the children’s best.

We must be willing to put ourselves on the line together with colleagues, meet everyday pedagogy with curiosity, have the desire to try, reflect and have the courage to adjust practice. We decide pedagogical learning goals, initiatives and evaluation for the coming period. We develop a “Schedule for Action,” which is part of the materials on EMU- Denmark’s Learning Portal.

Management prioritizes the good working environment by being visible, present and supportive, so that we can succeed with the important tasks in daily life.

In Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality we have network leadership where we work together across a network on different tasks in the early childhood education sector.

We have Nature, Language, SAL, Praktik Committee, Professional Beacon together with the other day-care facilities in our network.

To create a shared focus for the work with high pedagogical quality we have our quality guide. This helps us have a common language for quality and always keep a focus on and reflection about the pedagogical practice.

We use systemic analysis of learning environments (SAL) as a pedagogical method. We are currently focused on strengthening the child perspective and child communities, which influence the pedagogical practice in a sparring process we have had with consultant Alice Darville. All teachers have scheduled time for other work and fixed staff meetings, so there is time for planning and immersion in the pedagogical practice. We have children and families in focus and prioritize good parent collaboration as an important element in the children’s everyday life.

We offer flexible working hours, a strong collegial community and a workplace where both children and adults thrive and grow together. What makes us particularly unique is our fantastic natural surroundings and an outdoor space that few institutions can match. The forest is just around the corner, making it easy to take the children outdoors where movement, music and creativity are important elements in our daily life, which we prioritize highly.

We also place a strong emphasis on creating a musical environment where community and respect for diversity are central, and where aesthetic learning processes create good conditions for differences. Music is undoubtedly important to us, as we know it helps to create inclusive communities across age groups. You are, however, welcome with us, whether you can play, sing or not – with us there is room for everyone, as every bird sings with its own beak.

We are also close to public transport, offer flexible working hours and a supportive working environment.

Your new team

You will become part of a dedicated and caring team of 13 colleagues who together create a safe, loving, fun and developing everyday life for 66 children aged 0-6 years, distributed across two kindergarten and two nursery groups. We place great emphasis on collaboration, professionalism and close parent cooperation, and we work purposefully to create an inclusive and creative environment where each child’s well-being and personal development are in focus.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 30-37 hours per week and the position is to be filled on January 4, 2027 to April 30, 2027.

Possibility for employment before January 4, 2027.
