About the job

Are you passionate about working with children's language development and language-stimulating environments and activities? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for for our Østerlund kindergarten team.

You do not need to have experience with language work to apply for the position.

As a language educator at Østerlund, your task will be to share knowledge with your colleagues, as well as be a linguistic role model for the children and adults in the house. In addition, you will become part of a professional language network across the area’s 8 houses and receive scheduled time for the task. As a language educator you will be equipped for the task by the head of the childcare house, and receive professional sparring for knowledge sharing in the house.

With us you get a strong sense of community, high professionalism and colleagues who take their work with children seriously and also value humor in everyday life. We believe that happy employees create the best conditions for children's well-being, learning and development.

We are not looking for the perfect educator. We are looking for a colleague who meets the children with presence, dares to try new things, can laugh at their mistakes and who every day shows up with the desire to create a good day for children and colleagues.

We are looking for you who

  • are a trained educator and want to be an active part of the children's everyday life
  • are passionate about working with children’s linguistic development
  • meet children with warmth, curiosity and infectious engagement
  • thrive in the company of children and gain energy from playing, exploring and creating good experiences together with them
  • see opportunities rather than limitations and approach tasks with optimism, initiative and good humor
  • participate in the community, contribute ideas and act, also when everyday life calls for flexibility
  • thrive in close team collaboration, where we help each other and lift tasks together
  • communicate openly and professionally with both colleagues and parents
  • meet parents with respect, trust and a professionally grounded approach.

In return we can offer a present and clear leadership, where there is room for sparring, ongoing feedback and joint reflection on practice. You will become part of a strong collegial community where we prioritise a constructive feedback culture and focus on ongoing professional development. In Østerlund we are highly professionally represented with educators, pedagogical assistants and several merit educator students.

In Østerlund we believe that the key to a successful pedagogical practice is a happy, engaged and balanced staff. We have a high level of professionalism and work purposefully to create a flexible workplace with a healthy work-life balance and a warm working environment.

We are professionally proud of our pedagogical work, and constantly develop our practice through dialogue and professional reflection. Everyone who works in Østerlund steps through the door to provide care and make a difference for the children. We aim to create the best possible conditions for well-being, learning and development, throughout the day.

We work in an environment where we both listen to each other and challenge each other’s professionalism. Our structure requires planning, and we therefore ensure space for preparation and scheduled professional meetings. We work towards a culture where all staff meet the children with the same pedagogical starting point, and that there is a “red thread” for the children in the years they are at Østerlund.

You will become part of a highly reflective professional team, which always has the children in the top context, a team that desires development, joy and fun for both children and adults. In addition, you will become part of the whole Østerlund, which lifts the community.
