We find AI equally fascinating, fantastic and sometimes also scary. Used correctly it is almost magical. Used incorrectly it can have overwhelming consequences.

At Mindcore we live by advising our customers; with edge, insight and stance. Therefore AI is exactly the area where we can make an insane difference. Not only for ourselves in daily work, but to a large extent out with our customers and for the society that depends on sound decisions being made in the companies that work with AI.

SMALL SOLO. LARGER ORCHESTRA

We think we have pretty good control over the technical side of AI. As a Microsoft house, we are helped by having access to almost everything that can crawl and walk on Microsoft’s AI platform. We are also not too proud to explore other players on the market. We use AI everywhere in the organization, from delivery to the back office. Coding, documentation, automation, conceptualization, agents, you name it. We have just introduced a completely new AI policy to create a common governance framework.

But to be completely honest we are still more 'solo' than 'orchestra' in how we approach AI. Because we like to experiment and try things out. We are nerds. It’s in our DNA. But now it is time to take stock. And the status is that we need a unifying force.

We now need to explore and execute the next phase of AI-enabled support for our services at Mindcore while also supporting the type of business we are and want to be. Without undermining our DNA and values, but also not stubbornly clinging to unnecessary dogmas.

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!

We need an AI Lead. A conductor who can get our fantastic solo artists to play in band together. Take what we are good at and combine it with your knowledge of the technology, the market, the other players, and the companies that are our lifeblood.

You should love creating a coherent direction and prioritizing which initiatives and investments should be pursued. You should bring the team along and be able to communicate clearly where we are investing and why. You translate between IT specialists, business, management and customers. As the upcoming spearhead of the AI agenda, you are the one who speaks and sets the direction – at conferences, with customers and in the day-to-day life of the organization.

In other words, the commercial part of AI must be a central part of how we choose and prioritize the right paths to take for Mindcore in the next 2-5 years. Acknowledging that the future is hard to predict, we will gear ourselves for the new reality and explore new opportunities that can give us the fuel we need to create real value for the customers and for ourselves.

• You will have mandate and responsibility for our AI agenda.
• You represent Mindcore both internally and externally.
• You will receive a dedicated budget for the chosen, prioritized initiatives.
• You will receive a dedicated budget to participate in external events and conferences, ensuring broad perspective.
• You report directly to the management and are also expected to advise the board on priorities and direction.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

As AI Lead you will be responsible for creating direction across Mindcore. The role is anchored with the CCO and has close interfaces to the CEO, CTO and COO, but your most important mandate arises in collaboration with the practices and specialists who will translate the opportunities into real value.

• You establish a consolidated overview of Mindcore’s AI opportunities, initiatives and risks, qualify priorities and give management an honest basis for decisions. This includes regular meetings with management and, when relevant, presentations to the board.
• Around the key initiatives you assemble the right practices and specialists. Some initiatives you drive yourself from idea to implementation and documented impact, while in others your task is to create direction, clear ownership and steady progress.
• Together with the individual practices you investigate where AI can genuinely improve existing services and ways of working, and where there is a basis for developing, testing and validating new AI-supported advisory services. Success is not measured by the amount of AI implemented, but by higher quality, greater capacity, better scalability or new commercial opportunities.
• You do not have to be the expert in everything, but rather see opportunities across our business and turn them into reality.
• The AI policy becomes your responsibility. You will further develop it and translate considerations of safety, accountability and human professional judgment into principles that work in practice without slowing relevant development.
• A substantial part of the task is to make the organization more capable by bringing in new knowledge, fostering curiosity and giving colleagues a better basis to use AI qualified in the client-facing business.

The role also has a longer horizon. You will get close to the choices that will shape Mindcore’s position in an AI-influenced advisory market, and you will have the opportunity to expand both your commercial footprint and your responsibility as results are created.

THE FIRST 6-12 MONTHS

We are lucky to have you start with us, and we think you can, in the first period, benefit from doing the following:

• Get an overview of our current service catalog and which practices deliver what today.
• Get close to our specialists and understand what they can do, and how they currently use AI to strengthen delivery and productivity.
• Work closely with our Sales & Marketing, who know all about our customers’ priorities and what’s moving in the market right now.
• Align with our other strategic priorities and where our business focus is today
• Go out and sell the message about what Mindcore can and will do on the AI agenda in the market
• Participate in all conferences and events that ensure you expand and maintain knowledge of the latest AI developments as well as networks and contacts.
• Define your overall priority of initiatives that, in the short and long term, transform Mindcore into an AI-augmented business.
• Ensure understanding and backing in the organization.
• Get approval for your initiatives, budget and plan.
• Go all in and push us forward.

WHO ARE YOU?

We are less concerned with a specific CV template than with the combination of experiences and perspectives you bring to the role.

• Your background could be from management consulting, a software house, an internal enterprise role or a combination. The crucial thing is that you understand and respect client work, the commercial dialogues, governance in larger organizations as well as the reality of software development and operations.
• Professionally you follow the development within generative and agentive AI closely, among other things through networks, conferences and dialogue with the market. Your technical understanding is broad enough to distinguish substantial shifts from short-lived hype, to conduct a qualified dialogue about data, integrations, scaling and security, and to know when to bring deep specialist knowledge into play.
• Although we are very Microsoft-focused, we are open to all technologies and possibilities, also outside the Microsoft ecosystem. So you must have eyes and ears open across AI technologies, models and companies.
• You are likely in the room, whether you facilitate a specialist dialogue, advise the management or give an external presentation. At the same time you quickly build trust and can challenge both experts and decision-makers respectfully when a choice should be qualified or reconsidered.
• When the starting point is unclear, you ask the questions that move the conversation forward, translate different perspectives into concrete decisions and keep the work aimed at the desired result.
• You do not have to be the expert in everything. We have talented people who will love diving into all the details. But you must be able to see opportunities and potential in our use of AI to strengthen our deliverables, and translate this into relevant, value-creating projects for our customers.
• You combine high energy and strong curiosity with the patience to build lasting competencies, relationships and ways of working.

Mindcore is a specialized IT consulting house founded by four partners in 2018. We employ just under 60 people and are in continued growth. As a Microsoft Solution Partner, we assist some of Denmark’s largest companies with complex solutions related to the company’s core infrastructure. This includes services related to Modern Workplace, security/compliance, IT transformation infrastructure and transformations.
