Occupational therapist wanted for the Occupational and Physiotherapy department at the Psychiatric Center Ballerup

We are seeking an occupational therapist for our intensive elderly psychiatric inpatient ward 24 at Psychiatric Center Ballerup.

Two communities – one important task

With us you will be part of both occupational therapy and physiotherapy and ward 24. Two communities, which we see as equally important.

In Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy you will become part of a team of dedicated, skilled and curious occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Here you contribute to the therapeutic professional community with your occupational therapy expertise, sparring and curiosity and you will work particularly closely with your physiotherapist colleague on ward 24.

At the same time you have your daily rounds on ward 24, where you become a natural and important part of the multidisciplinary treatment community around the patients.

The occupational therapist is not seen just as someone who comes to the ward to solve their therapeutic tasks. We need you as an active part of the multidisciplinary community on ward 24.

You should want to bring your occupational therapy expertise into play, but also be curious about the other professions, participate in the joint task solving and contribute to us together creating the best patient pathways.

About ward 24

Ward 24 is an intensive elderly psychiatric inpatient unit with 17 patients. The ward receives people over 65 with various psychiatric disorders, including mood disorders and psychoses.

We work from a holistic perspective, where we have regard for both the psychiatric illness and the patient’s physical and social needs, functional capacity and resources.

We are focused on the person behind the disease: What is important for the individual? What can the patient do themselves? What has become difficult? And what is needed to return to a meaningful everyday life?

Here occupational therapy has an important role.

When you become wiser about the patient’s function, habits, activities and resources, you contribute with important knowledge to the multidisciplinary treatment.

What will you do?

As an occupational therapist on ward 24 you will among other things work with

• occupational therapy screening, examination and treatment
• individual occupational therapy programs focusing on functional ability and meaningful activities
• function and ADL assessments
• COPM, ADL-I, ADL observation and A/ASP
• sensory modulation as part of the psychiatric treatment
• psychiatric rehabilitation plans home visits
• mono- and interprofessional group offers

The interdisciplinary collaboration is a big part of your everyday life. You will therefore also need to communicate your observations, assessments and occupational therapy perspectives to your interdisciplinary colleagues.

You will also have the opportunity to help develop the occupational therapy practice and our multidisciplinary treatment.

Who are you?

You are a licensed occupational therapist and would like to use your professional skills in psychiatry.

Experience from somatics and/or psychiatry is an advantage here including functional assessments, GGOP, A/ASP or sensory modulation.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a permanent 37-hour week with start date by agreement.

You will be employed according to the collective agreement for non-leading occupational therapists, physiotherapists and midwives. You are during employment covered by the current working time agreement entered into between Regionernes Lønnings- og Takstnævn and the Danish Association of Occupational Therapists.

The region is a 24/7 operation, and you will, according to concrete need, be planned with shifts in accordance with the rules in the current working time agreement.
