Technical Project Lead

Location

Apply for the position

Do you want to be the technical driving force that ensures high quality in design – and do you thrive in creating direction in a cross-disciplinary project team where you both use your technical strength and your ability to coordinate?

As a technical project lead you will have a central role in translating requirements and ambitions into concrete, buildable solutions and ensuring that the deliverables hang together across disciplines and project phases.

In Sweco's Roads & Mobility department we work with advisory in all phases of civil projects – from the earliest ideas and analyses to design, procurement, supervision and construction management. Our tasks span broadly within the road and mobility area, including traffic planning, traffic analyses, signal installations, capacity calculations, simulations as well as geometric design and dimensioning.

In the role you will have the opportunity to influence both technical choices and the process, where you act as a professional sparring partner for the project manager and colleagues, and where you contribute to ensuring that quality, progress and interfaces are handled safely.

The position is anchored in Western Denmark with the possibility of base at several of our offices – including Aarhus, Aalborg, Horsens, Kolding, Sønderborg, Silkeborg and Herning. At the same time we solve tasks across Denmark, and you must therefore be comfortable with project teams and meetings spanning geography.

About the role

As a technical project lead you will have a central role in translating requirements, standards and project conditions into thoroughly developed design. You will be the one to ensure coherence between solutions, disciplines and deliverables – and to make it easy for the project leader and the rest of the team to deliver on time and with the right quality.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • Drive the technical design delivery within roads and mobility with a focus on quality, buildable solutions and clear technical direction.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces internally in a cross-disciplinary setup.
  • Ensure that the design follows relevant requirements, standards, processes and agreed deliverables.
  • Contribute to planning of the design process, including input to schedules, resources and deliverables in collaboration with the project manager.
  • Engage with colleagues and function as the technical quality assurer in selected tasks and project phases.
  • Contribute to client dialogue and meeting forums with technical presentations, risk analyses, clarifications, dialogue about changes as well as proposed solutions.

About the right match

You are technically strong, work in a structured way and can create an overview in complex tasks. You thrive in collaboration with other disciplines and can communicate technical choices and consequences so that colleagues, clients and partners can make good decisions. At the same time you are motivated by making projects succeed – with high quality and a proper process.

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant technical education (e.g., civil-/diploma engineer, traffic engineer or similar).
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience with road and/or mobility projects – preferably from the consulting industry.
  • Have solid experience with design and can navigate confidently through the project's phases from planning to detailed design.
  • Have experience coordinating deliverables and ensuring progress across disciplines (a formal discipline project lead role is an advantage, but not a requirement).
  • Communicate clearly and collaboratively.
