Family therapist with special knowledge about autism, a focus on the whole family, and with special educational competencies for Herkules at Magleblik School

Do you want to make a difference for children with autism or autism-like challenges and school refusal? Children who have lost faith in school and in themselves?

At Herkules we meet the students with presence, clarity and respect. We work with integrated support and a mentalizing approach, where relationships and understanding are central. We are looking for an educator who wants to help rebuild trust and create conditions where children can thrive, develop and find their way back to meaningful communities.

Are you focused on understanding what lies behind the child’s or the young person’s behavior? Do you have an eye for how autism can express itself differently, and how sensory processing, masking, energy management, communication and the surroundings can affect well-being and development? And can you translate your knowledge into concrete family treatment, where the understanding of the child’s or the young person’s needs is translated into usable strategies and new possibilities for action in the family?

We are looking for someone who

• Creates safety and structure in daily life
• Has experience with or a strong interest in working with children and young people with autism
• Has knowledge of treatment work or a desire to learn it
• Has experience with family treatment and/or social intervention in complex tasks where there are autism spectrum disorders or other psychiatric conditions in the family
• Has a solution- and resource-focused outlook and believes that change is possible.
• Works relationally and purposefully with the development of students and families
• Is able to set clear goals and guide students in the direction of achieving them with support, patience and professional insight
• Is curious about mentalizing practice and holistic interventions
• Wants to be a visible and present adult in the lives of children and families.

About Herkules and Magleblik School

Herkules is a special pedagogical school offering for students with autism and school refusal, where we work with integrated support and a holistic approach. We often work from the student’s home and network as a starting point. We are part of Magleblik School, which, in addition to Herkules, includes three specialized school offers: Basen, Hermes and Apollo. Here collaboration, safety and development are in focus.

• Herkules: 20 students
• Basen: 44 students (0nd–9th grade)
• Hermes: 10 students in 3 grade communities
• Apollo: 1 student, targeted offer for students with complex needs

The school is located close to nature and public transport and combines academic rigor with heart and ambition.

Our pedagogical approach

At Herkules we work from a holistic and reflective practice, where relationships and understanding are central. We use a mentalizing approach that supports students’ ability to understand their own and others’ feelings, intentions and actions. Our work takes its starting point in a systemic and narrative framework, where we see the students in context, as part of their family, network and surroundings. This means we emphasize creating meaningful communities where everyone feels seen, heard and included.

• Salary and terms of employment are determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. In addition, qualification and functional supplements can be agreed. The expected total salary is in the range of 45,000–55,000 DKK per month excluding pension, depending on experience and competencies
• Background checks: Child and criminal record checks will be obtained before employment
