About the job
COME AND BE PART OF IT
We are seeking a skilled and experienced social worker for our inpatient ward who will also participate in the development of an intensive outpatient team under the department. The intake of more bed places, more children and adolescents in intensive outpatient pathways, and the opening of the region's Youth Home Bifrost, which calls for close and committed cross-sector collaboration, means that we now need another social worker. If this sounds like something for you, if you are focused on this group and you enjoy contributing to good collaboration both internally and externally, read on.
Your tasks as a social worker in the inpatient ward reflect that we work with young people, children and families whose psychiatric disorders and psychosocial conditions are complex and require that both understanding of them and interventions for them are interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral.
Typical social worker tasks include participation in conversations with children, young people and their families/networks, mapping out social matters in connection with diagnostic pathways, and not least ensuring coordination with municipalities, housing facilities and other actors, as well as facilitating and leading network meetings together with other professional groups in the inpatient ward.
As a social worker in the inpatient ward, you are thus an important actor in building bridges between the health service and the municipalities’ social administrations, PPR, UU-guides, placement sites and other actors.
Finally, you will be a key player in the development and coordination of an intensive outpatient team that, under the inpatient ward, follows young people – also outside of hospitalization – with close and extensive interventions from both child/adolescent psychiatry and from the primary sector, e.g. in the form of placements.
About you
- Graduated social worker, preferably with experience from the child and youth area in psychiatric and/or municipal settings
- Thrives in a development and learning environment across professional disciplines
- Possesses good collaboration skills, interest in interdisciplinary cooperation, and the ability to communicate factually
- Thrives in a workday with varying tasks, where there can be both acute and more planned tasks with administrative tasks, social-work counseling and guidance as well as coordination of interventions
- masters clear and precise communication, both written and spoken
- Has the ability and willingness to work in a reflective environment
- Can take responsibility for independent planning of tasks and maintains an overview
We offer
- Work in a department that is both development-oriented and ambitious, where we strive for professional development and building competencies
- Varied tasks
- Close teamwork across disciplines, departments and organizations
- Professional sparring and development
- Good onboarding and the possibility of ongoing sparring about the tasks
- Good working conditions, a good working environment and an informal but respectful manner in a committed team
About the Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Ward
The inpatient ward has 12 beds, of which 4 are in a shielded unit. The beds are used by children and adolescents aged 12-17 who require treatment and/or assessment, both acute and planned. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Ward shares department leadership with the inpatient ward for eating disorders, which creates the possibility for flexible and good patient pathways as well as collaborative relationships between the two units.
We have a close collaboration with the department’s other sections, with other hospital departments, e.g. the pediatric department, and cross-sectorally, e.g. with municipalities, PPR, general practitioners and residential facilities/housing.
The inpatient team comprises doctors, psychologists, nurses, social educators, secretaries and a few social and health care assistants. The total staff group consists of about 40 employees in the milieu therapy team (nurses, social educators, SOSA staff) and about 10 clinicians (doctors, psychologists, social workers).
The shared department leadership for the two inpatient wards consists of a duo leadership with a chief physician and a chief nursing officer.
About the Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Department in general
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a specialty at the center of political attention, both locally in the North Jutland Region and nationally. We therefore look forward to a future in which we together develop Denmark’s best child and adolescent psychiatry – this requires professionalism, innovative thinking and, not least, emphasis on cross-sector task-solving. The coming years call for rapid development and require specialized competencies.
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Ward, together with the inpatient wards for eating disorders, forms part of the overall Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which also includes the Youth Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic, the Child Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic, the Unit for Cross-Sector Development and Collaboration (TUS) and the Outpatient Clinic for Eating Disorders.
The leadership structure of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry consists of a departmental leadership with a chief physician, chief nurse and chief psychologist. The outpatient clinics have duo leadership with outpatient leaders and chief physicians, while the inpatient wards are led by a chief nurse and a chief physician.
Our focus is on professionalism, good patient pathways, increased patient involvement and close cooperation with the primary sector. Our goal is to develop a child and adolescent psychiatry where staff continue to thrive, and where we collectively develop new ways to handle the challenges we face. If you are passionate about the psychiatric specialty and are enthusiastic, we want you to help shape this development.
Work in the clinic is based on Psychiatry’s overarching values: Influence, Trust, Decency and Professionalism (ITOP). We therefore work intensively to strengthen professionality, interprofessional collaboration internally, and collaboration with the external primary sector.
