We are seeking new law students and finance students, who will be tasked with handling Tryg's damages claims against responsible tortfeasors and their insurance companies. You will have the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of cases and be responsible for Tryg's pursuit of damage claims from start to finish. You will also support our lawyers with the preparation of damages assessments.

Primary tasks for you and the team include

• Preparation of damages assessments.
• Identification and assessment of the liability basis in damage cases.
• Evidence preservation and clarification of insurance losses.
• Non-contentious litigation.
• Negotiation of settlement offers, coordination with claims handlers and responding to telephone inquiries from clients in your case portfolio.

As a law student you can initially expect to handle damages claims within the area of traffic law. If you have a strong legal understanding and a desire for more responsibility, then after agreement with your assigned lawyer you will be trained in handling complex cases within corporate-, product-, and/or private liability.

As a finance student you will more heavily deal with vehicle collision damages, the preparation of damages assessments, and various administrative tasks.

You will naturally undergo a thorough introduction where we will, among other things, train you in legal method, claims law, insurance law and non-litigation procedural law as well as provide ongoing training in the various tasks and claims handling systems.

About you | Responsible, social and detail-oriented

You want to become acquainted with the insurance industry and expand your knowledge of damages and insurance law. As a person you take pride in delivering work of high quality. Additionally you are structured and detail-oriented. You work steadily, reliably, and are largely self-driven when you are trained in the various tasks. It is important that you as a person thrive working independently – but with a strong desire to help your colleagues and lift as a team. A good IT understanding is an advantage, but not a requirement.

As a law student we assume you are either a JD student or a HA(jur.) student and at minimum have passed the first-year exam.

As a finance student we assume you are studying to become a financial economist, a finance bachelor or similar. You have an interest in the insurance industry and want to support our lawyers with the preparation of financial statements and are willing to handle legal damages claims.

The position will be 15 hours per week at our head office in Ballerup and as far as possible within the hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, we are flexible during exam periods and have a great understanding that studies come first.
