About the job

As foreman at Arkil in Silkeborg you will have a central and accountable role. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated foreman who is fully project-driven and not an operative employee. You will be responsible for driving and managing large construction projects, typically those exceeding 5 million kroner. The projects range from road projects, road expansions, installation of noise barriers and especially larger construction projects primarily in main contracts.

Geographically, the projects will typically be located in and around Central/West Jutland, but it should be expected that work may also occur nationwide.

Your primary tasks will include

• Daily leadership, management and progress of larger construction projects.
• Motivation and leadership of the hourly-paid crew in your squad to ensure welfare and effective collaboration.
• Close collaboration with suppliers and responsibility for daily planning.
• Participation in bidding, including reading drawings and optimizing the cases.
• Assembly and staffing of the right team for each project.
• Daily client dialogue and participation in construction meetings.

About you

You bring solid experience as a foreman and have tested your leadership abilities and have a strong understanding of the practical work out in the field. Your most important professional ballast is a strong background in large construction projects, where you have led major construction projects. Knowledge of urban sewerage is an advantage, but it is heavy earthworks and civil engineering that are central to the role.

• Have strong interpersonal skills and know what it takes to create team spirit and drive a crew.
• Have a good overview and can remain calm and make decisions – even when the pace is fast.
• Are willing to tackle calculations and can express yourself well both orally and in writing.
• Have a basic IT understanding and curiosity to use digital tools in everyday work.
