It is a community that brings with it pride, and we work purposefully to make the Coastal Rescue Service one of the world’s best.

About the position

As the boat skipper, you are part of the local management at the station and shall support the station manager in administrative work as well as with maintenance and the general operation of the station and the equipment.

You are also the station manager’s deputy in his absence. You also form part of the on-call team at the station, and you, together with your colleagues, have the task of making the waters off Thorsminde safer. There will be various operations and exercises that you will also need to participate in.

You are part of a team of good colleagues with a close-knit esprit de corps, and you have the opportunity to influence the local development of the Coastal Rescue Service.

You are part of a culture where we are proud of our work, and where we take pride in saving people. You will have a workplace where there are always both experiences and challenges.

About you

To be considered for the position, it is required that you have obtained a Health Certificate for Seafarers without limitations (Blue Book) and that you do not have any criminal records that are incompatible with service in the Coastal Rescue Service.

Knowledge of the waters off Thorsminde is an advantage, as you, as a rescuer, must be able to operate at sea in all weather and in all types of rescue operations. It is required that you can report to the station within 10 minutes when the alarm sounds.

Employment terms

The employment is on behalf of the Ministry of Civil Security and Emergency Preparedness.

You will be hired and remunerated according to the applicable organizational agreement for rescue personnel at the rescue stations under the Ministry of Defense between the Ministry of Defense’s Personnel Agency and the Association of Danish Rescue Personnel as well as the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organisations - The State Sector.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility of negotiating an allowance. The position is linked to an employer-funded pension scheme.

The position is a full-time role of 37 hours per week. The position is to be filled by 1 March 2027.

Your permanent place of service will be Thorsminde Rescue Station.
