Hourly lecturer for the Software Engineering program

Would you like to help train the software engineers of the future?

VIA Software Engineering Education seeks engaged and academically strong hourly teachers for teaching on the software engineering program for the spring semester 2027, where teaching starts in week 6.

About the position

As an hourly teacher you will be part of a professional environment where practice-oriented teaching, collaboration and contact with students are at the center. You will join a team of instructors who are passionate about developing the students' technical understanding, problem-solving abilities and professional identity.

The position includes teaching, supervision and evaluation within one or more of the following areas:

• Machine Learning
• Linear Algebra
• Java programming
• DevOps & Cloud

The number of hours is agreed individually and can be adapted to both you and the program's needs. As an hourly lecturer you can have a maximum of 500 hours per year.

We expect that you

• Have a higher education degree such as cand.scient., cand.polyt., etc.
• Are fluent in written and spoken communication in both Danish and English
• Are keen to convey technical topics in an engaging and practice-oriented way
• Can work independently while also participating in a collaborative teaching team
• Are interested in working with young people and adults in a learning environment characterized by dialogue and professional curiosity

Teaching experience is an advantage, but not a requirement – we’ll help you get started.

Employment terms

Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for external lecturers and hourly teachers at professional bachelor's colleges, Denmark’s Medie- og Journalisthøjskole and vocational academies, etc., under the Ministry of Education and Research (AC) (AC)/CO 10/LCs bargaining area depending on your educational background:

This is a fixed-term appointment as an hourly lecturer from February 1 to June 30, 2027.

Your primary workplace is VIA Campus Horsens.

We will conduct interviews shortly after the application deadline on 9 November 2026.
