About the job

Are you passionate about personnel law and would you like to be part of a team that supports good employer conduct in Kolding Municipality, then we have an exciting position for you. The position is full-time under the collective agreement terms and limited to 12 months.

We are a team consisting of six personnel-law associates who play a central role in advising and supporting the municipality's leaders in handling sick- and disciplinary cases, dismissal due to lack of work, personnel policies and general agreements between the parties to the collective agreement. The authority for appointment and dismissal is delegated to the managers, so we equip the managers to conduct conversations and write minutes and take over the administrative part when hearing letters need to be prepared.

We participate in negotiations with the trade unions, respond to requests for access to documents and general labor-law questions in an HR context, participate in projects and educate the managers in labor-law topics.

The Municipality's HR department consists of HR Advisory, HR Organizational Development and Payroll and Personnel, which work closely together on initiatives in the organization. HR Advisory consists of the six personnel-law consultants who report to the head of HR Advisory. HR Organizational Development consists of work psychologists, occupational safety consultants, organizational development consultants, a recruitment consultant, a secretary, coaches and a supervisor.

Payroll and Personnel consists of both payroll and personnel consultants as well as a team that works with our new shared organizational platform. In the advisory team you will participate in knowledge sharing and best practice discussions with your colleagues and the municipality's payroll and personnel consultants.

You will of course also contribute to our ongoing work to optimize processes, edit personnel policies in collaboration with the MED organization, and many other legal aspects related to HR.

The HR Advisory team works closely with HR Organizational Development on cross-cutting projects and tasks as well as general sparring on cross-cutting HR issues and trends, e.g., recruitment, onboarding, sickness absence and occupational safety. There is also close collaboration with Payroll and Personnel, as we naturally have many interfaces and benefit from each other’s perspectives and competencies.

You will join a team where we want to involve you and where there is room for diversity. The HR department is generally characterized by a very informal environment, where we take care of each other and share the view that it should be pleasant and enjoyable to go to work.

Experienced personnel lawyer or consultant with broad professional background

We are looking for a colleague who has experience with personnel law and preferably a relevant legal education. You are used to working with managers in a larger organization and you have a good grasp of the basic legal disciplines, in particular labor-law and administrative-law. In addition, you are used to case handling, assessing, advising and sparring with managers.

Your experience must among other things enable you to build trustful relationships with managers in the organization, so you become a valuable sparring partner.

As a person you are solution-oriented and have good situational awareness. You are able to view an issue from several angles, whether it concerns managers, colleagues or trade unions, and you know that it is rarely fruitful to take a hard line.

You have a structured approach to your work and a eye for detail, while being effective and approachable. You thrive on building relationships and giving the sparring that is needed – both within the team and in the organization. Based on your experience you have impact and the courage to challenge processes and the managers you help.

We keep track of many tasks at once, which requires your overview and ability to prioritize your tasks. You are approachable and want to make a positive difference every day.

You obviously have an interest in the public sector collective bargaining area. If you have knowledge of local pay formation and other legislation relevant to the HR area, that is an advantage. You are a good negotiator with strong collaboration skills and situational awareness, and you can therefore negotiate successfully with the trade unions/TR.

We offer

You will get a position with varied tasks in an HR department characterized by a flat structure and a high degree of freedom with responsibility. We are not divided into departments, collective-bargaining groups or other, but handle all inquiries on equal terms, though we are primary and secondary responsible in certain areas. There are good frameworks for a flexible working day, where the work can be arranged to benefit all parties.

The HR department works closely with the entire organization – both in the ongoing dialog and in the day-to-day concrete issues. We also work across HR and ensure that we make the best use of competencies.

We have an informal tone in HR, and we maintain both mood and professionalism high, even when things move quickly. Colleagues are always ready to provide sparring and good advice, so all competencies are brought into play, and the good sense of community is also evident at the lunch table or in other social contexts.

In addition, we offer

  • Competent sparring and guidance
  • Assignment of a contact person for the first 3 months
  • Professional development
  • Health scheme (including occupational physiotherapy and massage)
  • Fruit and coffee scheme
  • Flexible work arrangements
