About the job

Institute for Society and Policy seeks a number of permanent study lecturers for the social worker education

Job description

Do you want to help educate upcoming social workers? The Institute for Society and Policy at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities is seeking a number of permanent study lecturers. The positions are full-time, 37 hours per week, with appointment from 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Your tasks

As Study Lecturers you are attached to the Social Worker Education, Aalborg University. The positions include teaching and supervision in social work and social counseling in a broad sense. The focus is on the core competencies of the social worker and social counseling in a social-science, interprofessional, and societal context. In addition, the positions include contributing to coordination of educational and teaching activities. 80% of the time is allocated to teaching, 20% to development tasks.

In addition to teaching, the position also includes participation in the institute's research environment for research in social work.

We expect that you are passionate about research-based education and about creating a link between theory and practice in the development of future competent social workers.

Qualifications

It is expected that applicants for the position hold a relevant master's degree (e.g. cand.soc.) or similar relevant qualifications at the equivalent level (e.g. several years of leadership experience from practice). A background as a social worker is an advantage but not a requirement. In addition, there must be a positive assessment of the applicant's teaching qualifications.

Furthermore, it would be advantageous, but not a requirement, if applicants have experience with problem-based learning (PBL), which is Aalborg University’s pedagogical model.

The study lecturers are part of the Section for Social Work and in the teaching teams around the Social Worker Education. You can read more about the education and the institute at the links below:
