About the job

Do you want to work in an exciting specialty where you can develop your psychiatric competencies, contribute to the good treatment course and make a difference for children, adolescents and their families? Børne- og Ungdomspsykiatri Syddanmark, Vejle offers an introductory position of 37 hours in our outpatient clinic in Vejle as of March 1, 2027 or by agreement

With us you will get a broad introduction to the child and adolescent psychiatric specialty, where professional immersion, multidisciplinary collaboration and a holistic approach to children, adolescents and their families are central.

Your tasks

As an introductory physician you will be permanently attached to a multidisciplinary team, where you participate in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents aged 4-17 with mental disorders. You will work closely with the children, the young people and their families, as well as with the other professional groups in the team.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Psychiatric assessment and diagnostic evaluation of children and adolescents.
  • Planning and follow-up of treatment courses in collaboration with the team.
  • Counselling with children, adolescents and their families.
  • Collaboration with other professional groups such as psychologists, nurses, pedagogues, social workers, occupational therapists, etc.
  • Interdisciplinary and team-based collaboration and coordination with relevant partners.
  • Participation in clinical conferences and professional discussions.

Approximately twice a month you will also participate in the on-call function in Aabenraa, where you are attached to the 24-hour youth ward and may handle urgent inquiries on weekdays from 8.00 to 18.00.

We plan the work with a focus on gradually developing your clinical skills and obtaining a solid understanding of the child and adolescent psychiatric specialty.

A strong educational environment

We highly prioritise medical further education and offer a well-structured introduction with an approved training program and clear framework for your professional development.

You will be assigned a mentor from your own team, and we strive to hold supervision 2-4 times a month. In addition, you will receive ongoing clinical supervision and the opportunity for professional sparring with experienced colleagues.

We place a strong emphasis on a safe learning environment, where there is room for questions, reflection and feedback, and where you can gradually take on greater responsibility as your professional development progresses.

There are good opportunities to subsequently apply for a main specialty training position if you wish to continue your specialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry.

  • A structured training program with regular guidance and supervision.
