Introductory position as a resident physician at the Department of Medical Gastrointestinal Diseases S at Odense University Hospital

Introductory position as a resident physician is available to be filled from 01/12/26 – 30/11/2027

Work organization: two-shift operation with subsequent on-call duty from the on-call room.

For the position, an education program is attached in the Department of Medical Gastrointestinal Diseases S (internal medicine: gastroenterology and hepatology).

The position has a primary function in Department S, but also includes on-call duties in the Common Emergency Department.

About the Department of Medical Gastrointestinal Diseases S

The department handles both regional and highly specialized functions and works in close collaboration with the Endocrinology and Rheumatology Department, with a total bed capacity of 34 beds. The gastroenterology section has 21 beds, while the remaining beds are dedicated to the endocrinology and rheumatology patients.

We handle annually about 1,400 admissions and 32,000 outpatient contacts, of which about one third are conducted virtually.

Department S prioritizes high quality in patient care, research and teaching, and we work targetedly across disciplines to ensure good patient pathways. We have a strong research profile with six professors attached. The medical staff consists of 15 consultants, 4 department physicians, 8 HU doctors, 2 introductory doctors and 3 KBU doctors.
