Introductory physician sought for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Southern Denmark, Vejle

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Southern Denmark, Vejle offers an introductory position of 37 hours in our outpatient clinic in Vejle on 1 March 2027 or by agreement

With us you get a broad introduction to the child and adolescent psychiatric specialty, where professional immersion, interdisciplinary collaboration and a holistic approach to children, adolescents and their families are at the center.

Your tasks

As an introductory doctor you will be permanently attached to a multidisciplinary team, where you participate in assessment and treatment of children and adolescents aged 4-17 years with mental disorders. You will work closely with the children, the young people and their families as well as with the other professional groups in the team.

Your tasks will include, among other things

• Psychiatric assessment and diagnostic evaluation of children and adolescents.
• Planning and follow-up of treatment courses in collaboration with the team.
• Conversations with children, adolescents and their families.
• Collaboration with other professional groups such as psychologists, nurses, pedagogues, social workers, occupational therapists mm.
• Interdisciplinary and team-based collaboration and coordination with relevant partners.
• Participation in clinical conferences and professional discussions.

Cc. about twice a month you will also be part of the on-call function in Aabenraa, where you are attached to the 24-hour unit for adolescents and possibly handle acute inquiries on weekdays between 08:00 and 18:00.

We arrange the work with a focus on gradually developing your clinical competencies and obtaining a solid understanding of the child and adolescent psychiatric specialty.

A strong educational environment

We place a high priority on medical continuing education and offer a well-structured introductory program with an approved training program and clear frameworks for your professional development.

You will be assigned a supervisor from your own team, and we aim to hold supervision 2-4 times per month. In addition, you will receive ongoing clinical supervision and opportunities for professional sparring with experienced colleagues.

We place emphasis on a safe learning environment, where there is room for questions, reflection and feedback, and where you gradually can take on more responsibility in line with your professional development.

There are good opportunities subsequently to apply for a main specialty training position if you wish to continue your specialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry.

About the department

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Southern Denmark is anchored under Odense University Hospital and has a joint management with outpatient clinics in Aabenraa, Esbjerg, Vejle and Odense as well as inpatient wards in Aabenraa and Odense. We have about 600 employees, of which about 70 are skilled and accessible doctors.

We work in a team-based, interdisciplinary and holistic manner with the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with mental disorders. Collaboration with families and relevant professionals across health care, social and educational sectors is a central part of our work.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment for the position follow the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include possible negotiated allowances depending on your experience and qualifications. See starting salary for positions in the Region of Southern Denmark This means that at the interview mutual expectations regarding your salary level will be discussed. If you are not already employed in the Region of Southern Denmark, there will be a three-month trial period. A child and criminal record check as well as references will be obtained on hire.
