Introductory position in acute medicine in Kolding

We are seeking three introductory doctors in emergency medicine with appointment from 1 March 2027 or after further agreement

You will become part of the acute medical team, where the Emergency Department in Kolding is at the forefront of developing the acute medical field: both in the emergency department and in cross-sector solution possibilities with the patient in focus. In the emergency department we have training doctors at all levels: pregraduate, internships (KBU) and physicians in introductory and main training positions in emergency medicine.

In addition, we participate in the training of internal medicine physicians, general practitioners, etc. Your learning curve will be steep and your supervision opportunities very good, as we highly prioritize education and a good learning environment.

Your role as an introductory physician

You will, during your twelve months of employment in the emergency department, be attached to the three major specialties: internal medicine, orthopedic surgery and organ surgery. The main emphasis is on internal medicine.

The core task for you as an emergency physician is to receive, assess, examine, diagnose and treat the acutely ill patient in close interdisciplinary collaboration.

In addition you will gain competencies within, among other things, ultrasound, flow management, procedures such as lumbar puncture and pleural drainage, management of the unstable patient including as team leader, and in the clinical supervision of KBU doctors and medical students. We also introduce you to prehospital triage and treatment options.

The position in our department includes, among other things

• Teaching in emergency medicine ultrasound protocols
• EMCC course (Emergency Medicine Core Competences)
• Procedure shifts with the possibility of supervised training
• Sweeper shifts aimed at supervised reception and stabilization of the critically ill medical patient
• Case-based simulation training

Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the current agreement between Danish Regions and Young Doctors for full-time employed staff. The department has a two-shift on-call rotation.
