About the job

We are seeking 2 resident physicians for a 1-year introductory position in internal medicine.

1 for appointment 01.01.2027 and 1 for appointment 01.02.2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applicants for the introductory positions must have completed the clinical basic education.

There is an emphasis on applicants having an interest in the specialty of endocrinology, but employment in the position qualifies for the main specialty training in the nine internal medicine specialties.

The Endocrinology Department participates in the treatment of hospitalized medical patients with endocrine and internal medical diseases. The department has a very large outpatient function primarily focusing on diabetes, osteoporosis, thyroid diseases and obesity. The day shift will primarily be linked to the Endocrinology inpatient ward, outpatient clinic, and the Emergency Department.

The resident doctors join the Endocrinology Department's employment in an 8-shift on-call rotation in a medical emergency department. The on-call rotation also exists for the other medical departments at the hospital, and there is the presence of at least one back-up on duty from one of the departments at the hospital who participates in the on-call.

The department is highly active in research in the areas of diabetes, osteoporosis and obesity.

The department participates in student teaching.

The Endocrinology Department is one of the region's largest with approximately 30,000 outpatient visits. The department consists of an inpatient ward, a day hospital, an outpatient clinic, and a research unit.

Hvidovre Hospital is an exciting workplace with many opportunities for education and professional development, and the hospital is one of the country’s most research-active.
