About the job

Legal consultant for maternity cover in central staff

Join Team Jura, and use your legal expertise close to the municipality's decision-making processes and political ambitions.

Our colleague is going on maternity leave in mid-December 2026, and therefore we are seeking a maternity-cover for Team Jura.

Team Jura is part of the division Staff for Settlement, Economy and Organization. The team's central location gives you a unique opportunity to get close to decision-making processes and experience the interplay between law, strategy and politics. The staff consists of three departments: HR, Payroll and Insurance, Development and Communications as well as Law and Directorate Secretariat.

In Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality we work from an ambitious development strategy with a goal of 3,000 more residents by 2040. In Team Jura we actively contribute to this development. Therefore we are looking for an engaged colleague who, like us, is motivated to translate legal expertise into solutions that support the municipality's political ambitions.

The position and your primary tasks

In Team Jura you will become part of a professionally strong community with three lawyers and a legal case handler. The team's tasks span broadly and include, among other things, legal sparring across the municipality's areas, general administrative law, real estate, secretarial support for various boards, the DPO function, qualification of political agendas, municipal-law considerations and the conduct of election actions.

We are seeking a generalist, and you will have a broad portfolio of tasks with both classic legal tasks and tasks of a more administrative character. You will, among other things, work with:

  • qualification of contracts
  • cases concerning public access to documents
  • qualification/vetting of political agendas
  • handling of legacies (grants)
  • preparation of tender material for sale of real estate
  • lease contracts and user agreements

You will be responsible for both the legal aspects and the practical handling of the cases. In the position you will have a central role in the organization, where you serve both the political and administrative levels. You will work closely with colleagues across disciplines and contribute to supporting the organization at all management and staff levels.

Samtidig bliver du en del af et tværfagligt, uhøjtideligt og fagligt stærkt miljø, hvor samarbejde, videndeling og sparring er en naturlig del af hverdagen.

Who are we looking for?

You hold a cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur. It is an advantage if you have municipal experience, but recent graduates are also considered.

We imagine that you

  • are outgoing and proactive, both professionally and socially
  • take active responsibility for efficient task completion
  • thrive in a professional community where sparring, learning and curiosity are central
  • can clearly and understandably communicate your expertise to colleagues with different professional backgrounds and focus on finding the best solutions together
  • have an eye for the political direction and the ambitions that drive the organization
  • are motivated by close collaboration with other colleagues and can navigate in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • work proactively and take initiative to push tasks forward

What can we offer you?

We offer an exciting maternity cover in a well-functioning and professionally strong team. Here you will have the opportunity to gain experience working in a politically governed organization.

We are often busy, but we also prioritise work-life balance. We place emphasis on it being both fun and meaningful to go to work, and that there is room for good collegial relationships and job satisfaction.

Terms of employment and application deadline

The position is 37 hours per week, but there is a possibility for reduced hours. Salary and terms of employment are fixed according to the applicable collective agreement.

The workplace is Rådhuset in Ringe. Since there may be meetings at various locations in the municipality, you must have a driver's license.

Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality aims to promote equality and encourages all qualified candidates to apply regardless of age, sex, religion, disability or ethnic background. We have a smoke-free working environment, and you can read more about Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality as an employer at www.fmk.dk.

Questions and important dates

If you have questions about the position, you are very welcome to contact the head of Jura and Directorate Secretariat, Dorthe Schou Johansen, at telephone 7253 1073.

The position is intended to be filled on 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Interviews are expected to be held on Wednesday 21 October 2026, and potential second interviews on Friday 23 October 2026.

Send your motivated application to us no later than Monday 19 October 2026 at 08.00.
