Kitchen assistant wanted for canteen/meeting catering team at Esbjerg Hospital

The kitchen at Esbjerg Hospital is seeking the next star for our canteen and meeting catering team. Do you have a creative mind in the kitchen, are you passionate about making sure your colleagues are offered tasty, visually appealing and climate-friendly food, and do you value a good working environment? Working hours are distributed as day shift about 2/3 (7-14.24) and evening shift about 1/3 (13-19.30), work every 3rd weekend, and possibility for between 30 - 37 hours/week. In addition to creating the tastiest buffet for the canteen and coordinating meeting catering for the meeting rooms on a daily basis, one also covers a role in patient feeding in a fixed duty cycle. This, among other things, to share the great joy of being able to provide a service and offer something to patients at a time when they need it most.

We are looking for a colleague who, by arrangement, can join as soon as possible, and who can fully integrate into our competent team at all levels, contribute to both the professional aspect and contribute to a good working environment. We expect that you have an interest in working in our kitchen – a dietetic background is an advantage, but not a requirement. We are open to a broad professional background (work/education as: nutrition assistant, cook, cater, butcher, baker, etc.) the most important is that you are teachable and can and will work with the different tasks in the kitchen. Expectations of you:

• You have experience within the kitchen/canteen field, and wish to work between 30 and 37 hours/week
• Are interested in your work and colleagues, and deliver good quality and good service to our customers
• Have an overview and are good at planning the work
• You lead in the development and production of climate-friendly and creative dishes
• Can and will contribute to positive dialogue and collaboration both internally in the kitchen and with our partners/customers

The kitchen organization has approximately 65 full-time positions, where the individual employee is part of a team for a rational kitchen operation. Physically we are in the kitchen in Esbjerg and the receiving kitchens in Grindsted and at the psychiatry in Esbjerg.

The Region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be told base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in Overenskomst for Ikke-ledende personale på Sundhedskartellets område 32.17.1 - løn pr. 1.4.2026 . In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include optionally negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

Please note that you are employed at the department level. This means that you may be assigned to perform duties at the department's other service locations if required by the needs of the operation.
