Kitchen Manager for Solhøj Daycare

Are you passionate about making healthy and nourishing food at children's level – and do you thrive in a house filled with curious children and good colleagues? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for as kitchen manager at Solhøj.

With us you will be an important part of daily life for about 60 lovely children. You will prepare morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack every day with a focus on health, taste and joy of food.

Your key tasks

• Prepare and plate healthy and varied meals according to the Danish Food Authority's recommendations
• Develop meal plans
• Ensure high quality and good ingredients with a focus on 70–90% organic
• Contribute to an inviting and well-functioning kitchen
• Talk with the children about the food – how it looks, smells and tastes

A daily life with joy of food and togetherness

At Solhøj, the meal is more than just food. It is also community, curiosity and learning.

One day a week we serve the afternoon meal as a cafe, and on Fridays we cook over a campfire. Occasionally we do a buffet for the preschool children, and when we go on longer trips away from home, you ensure tasty and delicious packed lunches for trips.

The children are close to the kitchen in everyday life. They peek in, ask questions and wonder why the food smells the way it does. Therefore conversations with the children are an important part of the job – and of our joint work to support the children's language development and joy of food.

About you

You take pride in making healthy and tasty food for children and thrive in a daily life where relationships and collaboration fill as much as the cooking itself. You enjoy contact with both children and adults and want to be a visible and welcoming part of the house.

It is important that you can keep an overview in the kitchen – even when the day changes, or curious children poke their head in with questions about the day's menu.

Practical information

The position is 37 hours/week in the hours 7.30 - 15.00. Approximately 5 hours per week you will participate in the other tasks with the children.

Employment starts 1 December 2026.
