Experienced kitchen assistant / cook for Ørestad School (temporary)

Ørestad Skole is one of Copenhagen Municipality's 14 food schools, and the project frames learning-rich and nourishing meals for everyone at the school – both children and adults. Our vision is that the children should be able to learn from the food in the kitchen and at the dining table, and that there is room to experiment, while we make healthy, varied food of high quality that appeals to all senses, tastes good and satisfies.

About you

We expect that you

• are inclusive, and you want to team up in the kitchen and food production together with our cooks
• can bring energy and are responsible for both food production, the practical, the hygienic, cleaning, the social and the culinary experience
• can see the beauty in food being organic and sustainable
• have kitchen experience or trained cook and can work at a high tempo
• have a good overview and a developed sense of order

Your tasks will be to

• be responsible for food production and can start at 07:00-13:00
• participate in the daily production and ensure serving on time of a lovely and wholesome meal in collaboration with the other five kitchen staff and four students, who take turns in the kitchen for a week at a time
• ensure that the food is healthy, attractive and helps foster culinary courage and new eating habits among the school's students
• take responsibility for daily hygiene, cleaning and food safety in the kitchen

Your qualifications

You have

• kitchen experience or trained cook and preferably baking experience
• interest in and preferably experience with collaborating with children and young people, teachers and pedagogues
• great pride in your work and take pride in combining good taste, organic and sustainability
• a positive and appreciative life and human view, where there is room for diversity

Ørestad Skole is a fully developed school with a virtual, aesthetic profile. We are a school where community, security, creative expression and learning activities are essential values, and where about 700 students are from 0th-9th grade. We have a food house with a shared dining for students and teachers on the 8th floor and share the building with KKFO, after-school club and library in the building.

Terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment according to applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation.

The position is 30 hours per week. We wish that you can start as soon as possible. The position is fixed-term until 4 June 2027, but possibly with extension.

In connection with the employment we will obtain child and criminal records check and take references.
