Contact Person – Galten

Are you looking for a smaller, but meaningful job, where your effort has great significance for another person? Then this position may be something for you.

On behalf of Skanderborg Municipality, CFD Rådgivning seeks a contact person for a 90-year-old woman with combined vision and hearing impairment. The woman lives in her own home in Galten and communicates via direct and clear speech.

She enjoys getting out of the home and likes short walks, where pace and length are adapted to her energy and daily condition. Previously she has been very creative and spent many hours on embroidery and knitting until her visual impairment limited these activities. She still values cozy social interaction and enjoys a game of Yahtzee from time to time.

If you have a well-behaved/quiet dog, it is welcome from time to time by arrangement. The woman enjoys a small visit from a sweet and affectionate dog from time to time.

Working hours

The working hours are 2-3 hours 1-2 times per week. The hours are preferably in the afternoons and early evening after further arrangement. However, other time periods earlier in the day may occur, depending on the woman's appointments out of the house.

In addition, 75 extra hours per year have been approved for accompaniment in connection with, for example, doctor visits, excursions, social events and similar.

Your tasks will include, among other things,

• Accompany for example short walks or shopping
• Appointments out of the house, possibly pétanque
• Social events
• Family visits
• Vision description in the home and surroundings
• Conversation time

We are seeking

We are seeking a contact person who is cheerful, positive and has a good sense of humor. You speak clearly and distinctly and have good patience and understanding that communication and activities may require extra time.

At the same time you are a present and empathetic person who can read the citizen's daily condition and adapt companionship, activities and tempo to her current needs and energy.

You thrive on meeting the citizen where she is, and understand that energy and needs can vary from day to day. This applies both on good days when there is energy for small experiences and activities, and on days when calm, presence and cozy companionship are the most important.

Training and support

Before employment you must complete an e-learning course of about 2.5 hours. The course provides an introduction to the work as a contact person for people with combined vision and hearing impairment. This teaching is paid.

You will also receive training through

• Collaboration with the citizen
• Introduction and instruction from CFD's deaf-blind consultants
• Ongoing coaching, supervision and course days.

Participation in courses and supervision is also paid.
