About the job

Is there a detective hidden in you, and would you contribute to solving an important societal task with great political attention? Would you combat tax-related economic crime through targeted efforts against international tax evasion and tax avoidance? Could you imagine a varied and flexible working day with professional development in a specialized unit? Then you might be our new colleague.

Special Control 2

In our unit, Special Control 2, we work with leaks and tax haven tasks.

The unit's main task is to handle leaks, such as previously Panama Papers, Dubai Properties, Twitch, etc. Leaks are pieces of information that have been leaked to the public, and where our task is to verify the information and ensure correct taxation of Danes who have attempted to hide income abroad. In addition, we handle tasks related to tax havens, such as checking EU-listed countries. The purpose is to identify physical and legal persons who 'operate' across borders and deliberately seek to avoid Danish taxation through active use of tax havens.

The unit's tasks change continually as we receive new relevant leaks, or as there is a shift in focus to new relevant trends and developments within the tax haven area. The tasks will therefore never be monotonous, but will change over time and require development in collaboration and specialization in new professional tax-related issues.

You will become part of a strong and experienced team of 15 colleagues, who help each other through open dialogue and professional sparring. We have a strong sense of belonging both professionally and socially, where we value a good mood.

Your tasks

As a control officer in the unit you will be responsible for your own case portfolio. You will, among other things, be tasked with:

  • collect relevant material and information from the taxpayer, available systems, financial institutions, foreign authorities, etc.
  • review large amounts of information from leaks data, accounting material and bank statements
  • perform necessary and correct case classification
  • prepare decisions with correct factual descriptions, legal references and quantitative calculations
  • engage in ongoing dialogue with the taxpayer, representatives, etc.
  • engage in ongoing collaboration with, among others, other units in the Tax Administration, other agencies in the Tax Administration and other public authorities
  • ensure progress in ongoing cases and compliance with deadlines.

Your competencies

We imagine that you have a relevant education such as cand.merc.jur., cand.jur., cand.merc.aud., HD-R, tax auditor (diplom in skat), professional bachelor in taxation or similar. You may also have obtained equivalent professional knowledge and skills through your professional experience. We assume that you have at least 3-5 years of experience with tax law or case handling from a similar position.

In addition, we emphasize that you

  • have high professional standards, including good legal and numerical understanding
  • have good communication skills in both writing and speaking
  • independently take responsibility for solving your own case portfolio
  • have an understanding of administrative law rules
  • are motivated to explore and process new data, including the ability to discern data, spot new indicators, and dive into irregularities in the data we have available
  • are open, curious, proactive and decisive
  • naturally share knowledge with your colleagues.

We are part of Tax Economic Crime and Money Laundering 1

Our office is part of Tax Economic Crime and Money Laundering 1 in the Special Control field of the Tax Administration. It should be exciting to go to work, which in addition to interesting tasks within a field in constant development, requires adaptability, high spirits and a positive approach to daily challenges.

  • a challenging job where you can make a difference and where you gain insight into a field with great societal attention
  • a thorough onboarding process consisting of both internal training and buddy training
  • good opportunities for ongoing professional development
